Very impressed with their play last night. Really thought they had played just a cream puff pre season based off their record, but they have some fantastic pieces in place. Hopefully they can maintain it through the grind of the Big Ten Season.

Need to fill recruiting pipeline in order to remain in top 1/3 of B1G Agree. This freshman class is good on paper. I think Randorf will be great, and Kennedy Hill looked exciting in the matches she started the opening weekend (but we’ve never seen her since). Davis historically has signed players that literally never see the court — like 1 or 2 sets total in 4 years. That’s just a huge miss. If Temi uses her 5th year then this team could be just as good next year (Lesiak might even have a 6th year potentially, but that’s a huge stretch). There appears to be just 1 signee in ‘23 and 1 commitment for 24. They need another Temi-like player or two to stay competitive ongoing. Otherwise this will be a typical NU “streak” of one or two NCAA appearances, then a 10+ year drought. |

Good on NW giving this staff time to build. Hopefully they continue to build. NW women's Lacrosse (lost NCAA 2022 Final) and Softball (WOMEN'S COLLEGE WORLD SERIES 2022) show women's Volleyball is tracking the right way. Nothwestern volleyball is up and coming. |

it really is a shame that this team probably won't see the tourney :/ regardless, they have a lot to be proud of, and Shane Davis should still be up for coach of the year imo.

Rousseau is back but doesn't quite look like her normal self. IMO team still has a chance to make the tournament, but would need to win against both an impressive Penn State and a solid Illinois team.
