With regard to B1G FOY, wouldn't that award just take into account the B1G season? In other words, everyone is still at the starting line with 0 B1G matches played? At least, that seemed to be what I was hearing last year when Samedy was B1G POY, but Rettke was NPOY.

Looking forward to seeing Eva Hudson who is the frontrunner for FOY at this point. As far as B1G FOY goes, I cannot imagine who would even come close. Purdue will go as she goes this year, and that's a lot to say for a freshman. I'm curious to see how it plays out. The Purdue offense is way out of balance right now. They set her far more than I like to see for a true freshman who hasnt even had a Spring of Weights and conditioning. That can grind down a young player. I think of Thayer Hall and Lexi Sun that were over used early in their freshman seasons, then struggled with injuries much of the rest of their careers. I hope they don't screw up Hudson. The Purdue schedule has been pretty light and they are still over using her. They got whacked by Louisville and the next best team they played was Utah at about #30 and they beat them at home in 5. Maybe they are good, but you certainly can't prove it from the schedule they have played. It worries me that they felt they needed to set Hudson over 10 times a set to beat Milwaukee. What is going to happen against Minnesota, if nobody else can even score against Milwaukee?

im excited for this one. Purdue should be better than wsu and Pepperdine, should really force Minnesota to show up if they want to win. if MN plays Purdue the way they did their last two matches, id bet on a Purdue sweep Did you say that the way Gophers played again WSU won't beat this Purdue team? I am a bit skeptical of that.

This weekend, like many other, is a tough one for Minnesota against two ranked teams. Intellectually I know I should be happy if the Gophers come out 1-1 for the weekend but I really want them to win them both.

I too would be happy if they win just one but at least fight hard in the losing match whichever that is.

I’m thinking that Purdue really wants to show the world that they are better than how they performed against Louisville. They were right there and let the sets slip away from them. I am hoping for a 3-2 outcome with Purdue winning in front of a raucous home crowd. Realistically, I am thinking that it will be 3-2 Minnesota edging Purdue out. Purdue will put up a fight, but it’s only the first match of the Big Ten schedule. Still need to figure out a few positions.
