Stanford just couldn't execute points. Passing seemed good enough and they took some swings. But they lost too many points on getting rolled/tooled.

Disappointing play by Stanford last night at Haas. Ball control was lacking as usual and way too many unforced errors. Surprisingly Stanford's serve was pretty good in set one even though they were on the Cal band side. In sets two and three they reverted to "into the net or long" serving and missing serves out of a TO. Baird as usual racked up plenty of SEs and her back row D was D level on the A-F scale.

Peripherally followed the match (I have something/somebody new WAY more important...'til the Oregon match, at least ). When I saw that Sami was out I felt that the contest would be a tight sweep: and it was. C'mon Blyashov/Harvey!

Baird had decent hitting numbers last night against the Bears' weak block. Oregon's blocking numbers aren't exactly the greatest either, so maybe she can have some success against the Ducks.

I saw in the notes that the attendance was 1,396...plus one hammer . SU draws 2-3x that for this rivalry matchup.

I will give credit to the CAL middles and Grote in this match though. They got a lot of blocks vs. Stan. Plus all hitters had good numbers, minus Schmidt.
