What’s up with Endsley? A few closeup camera shots exposed a less than enthusiastic face. Her numbers don’t stink, but I thought her performance and attitude did. One play she tipped once and was dug, then made a roll shot right to the defender. She seems to be afraid to swing on the right pin.

If you want a sport with subjective points for style, or even personality, try gymnastics. Could also do synchronized swimming, because volleyball is about scoring, which UW seems to do pretty well. |

One play she tipped once and was dug, then made a roll shot right to the defender. She seems to be afraid to swing on the right pin. She's UW's strongest hitter, so is definitely not afraid to swing. She's not a high jumper, so I'm glad that she's hitting "smarter", especially if the set isn't quite there or the block is formed in front of her. She's definitely improved over last season: 2.81k/s and .255 vs 2.52k/s and .195. UW was +7 in hitting errors (10 vs 17) and +5 in blocks (8 vs 3), despite being -3 in kills. Cook switched his lineup a couple of weeks ago: Endsley OH2 -> OPP, Bush OPP -> OH1, and Hoffman OH1 -> OH2, which has definitely been paying dividends. I suspect that Endsley is still adjusting to the position. |
