I do kind of feel bad for madden. His team got swept out the door on Sunday afternoon at home by one of the teams he hates the most in Nebraska. And, then last night, he spent so much time, energy and hope trying on this board trying to will Kansas to a victory, only to watch the other team he hates so much in Texas come back and yank the rug from underneath his feet in the most excruciating fashion. Rough last 4 days. choke. So sweet watching you cheer against Texas with all your immature might, and then watching you deflate point by point last night in this thread once the comeback was complete. It's almost better than watching the actual match as you implode mentally.

And they did sweep Iowa which is impressive since we all know there’s never a night of in the B10. Congrats, Texas but haters will be haters. If y'all want to compare yourselves to the BIG and teams top to bottom, happy to. Iowa is at the bottom, bless your heart. Texas wins over Ohio St(2), Minnesota, Baylor win over Wisconsin. The bottom of the B12 is better than the bottom of the B10. Thanks though and bless your heart.

Perhaps, or Jerritt actually coached for once in his career, got the right players on the court and stuck with it. Although he really needs to figure out why Akana is sitting on her hands when she passes. So bitter. How's that cheater coach of yours doing in Wisconsin? You still have season tickets for Texas home matches? We appreciate your financial contributions to pay for Jerritt's salary.

I was thinking the same thing. This was the match that showed there is a crack in the armor that can be exploited if all of the moon and stars align. After their opening weekend, I didn't think anyone was going to be able take three sets off of Texas. After last night, you can see the possibility of yet another regional disappointment. Outside of Akana in serve receive, I think the Longhorns biggest liability is sitting on the bench. Watching Jeritt get desperate and lose his cool when things weren't going well was revealing. His team fed off of that negative energy. When he sat down a the end of the bench and kept quiet, his team played better. Yeah - he’s gotta take some deep breathing classes. The two DS’ both staring at each other with neither making a play feels like a result of stress. This probably is done in 4 if he avoids the conflict with the R1. I remember Arizona Head Coach Rubio’s vigorous dissent one night with the R1 at Maples.. that was not uncommon, but he was REALLY upset even by his standard. The R1 pulled out a yellow card… no effect whatsoever… so, about ten seconds later, he pulled out a red card. That is the only time I have EVER seen a red card called on anyone in VB… under the current rules, that gives the other team a point in the current set. Within a few seconds of receiving the red, Coach Rubio finally realized he was seconds away from the R1 displaying red and yellow cards at the same time, which is the equivalent of a red card in soccer… disqualification and a mandatory suspension for the next match… and stopped dissenting. [There is a set disqualification available, but the rules explanation says that should only be used for technical errors... issues of behavior go from yellow to red to match disqualification.]. A week or two back, an EPL head coach received a red card for dissent in mid-match, and had to leave the touch line.

We seem to have different definitions of the word "beat". Beat means taking 3 sets off Texas. Nobody has demonstrated that yet. If you're just talking about losing sets, <shrug> tOSU did that on our second match. so you’re saying that you don’t think it’s fair to say Texas *might* be beatable bc a non ranked team took sets from them? Of course Texas might be beatable. They're not invincible. But that's not what the OP or Donut said

I'm glad to see a coach stand up and fight for his players; doesn't matter how it "looks" to non-Texas fans who have their own biases. That match last night is most likely a sweep on the road if not for service errors (which are for sure part of the game). Not a hater at all; I especially would love to see Eggleston finish her career on top. But imo Jeritt went beyond simply standing up and fighting for his players.

Texas probably should be ranked 1.5 next week. 1 seems a bit high after dropping these two sets.

I don't recall any Texas fans ever posting on this forum that Texas was unbeatable this season. Lot of non-Texas fans have been stating those type of comments since the offseason transfer portal acquisitions; some of those comments continued after the first four victories of the season.
Glad everyone enjoyed last night's match!

If what he said warranted a yellow card, he would have gotten one. But, I realize that's not good enough for you as you wanted blood.

Someone in the Texas thread said that the ref he got into an argument with was the same ref giving him trouble in one of the recent home games. That being said, before the third set he had his team in a huddle and JE seemed to have calmed down and looked apologetic.

Glad everyone enjoyed last night's match! Right. Most of the comments about Texas being unbeatable, just give them the title now, etc etc came from fans of other programs. If you go to the thread where ppl had to predict their school's record, most of us predicted at least 1 loss.
