Well I guess everyone knows now. Not that I’d be shocked, but I have a hard time believing this given it hasn’t been announced. Why would Michigan hold off on announcing it if it is done? There are still end of year awards being handed out. For example, it was announced today that a couple of players made the all-region team. IF there is a change coming, they may want to wait until these types of awards are done so a coaching change does not overshadow player accomplishment.

He was only there a couple years. He's done well and I bet he's moving on to a bigger position.

He was only there a couple years. He's done well and I bet he's moving on to a bigger position. He had 31 wins this year and took the team to Nationals where they finished 11th in the country. I would think that he would be moving on to one of those open D1 positions.

I would think that he would be moving on to one of those open D1 positions. I used to hear of a phenomenon where D1 coaches, in sweet talking the JuCo coaches to gain favor in recruiting, actually talked themselves into wanting to hire said JuCo coaches to their staff. I don't know why this was a thing with JuCo and not club coaches but I heard of it happening several times back in the day.

Many of the top JUCO HC's actually create D1 development grounds if you will. I placed a JUCO player with a D1 school last year. Prior to my involvement she had absolutely no programs recruiting her. She wasn't on anyone's radar. The school where she played & I coached was at the bottom of the conference year after year. I knew that she had D1 talent & started contacting coaches. In less than 2 weeks she had 13 colleges wanting to sign her. That being said, there are a lot of very quality JUCO players that are on bad teams & those players are dealing with the same situations of not receiving any interest, even though they could easily play at the next level (NAIA-D1). And like you said, there are a lot of big time schools who recruit out of the same JUCO's year after year. It's easy to recruit at a JUCO with a history of players moving on to play D1. It's always amazing to me how many solid players are not recruited & end up at JUCO's, only to end up as STUDS on a D1 team a few years later.
