What do the setters signal to the players before doing a play?
And what do the players signal behind their backs before the player serves?

Its a thread about dumb questions… Anyone needing lotion for the response probably walks up and checks the net height with their hands after the officials measure it with a chain… this dude’s one step away from calling the thread too “woke”, I bet you’re fun at parties Youre def the parent that starts the email to your DDs college coach with “im not that parent” and ends it with “please dont tell susie i emailed you…”

Why do blockers cover their ears and stick their elbows out when their teammates are serving?

When did players start wearing kneepads on their shins instead of their knees? And what happened to the big soft round kneepads?

What do the setters signal to the players before doing a play? And what do the players signal behind their backs before the player serves? 1) Setters are signaling the play they'd run on a perfect pass, usually to help hitter coverage... honestly its mostly mishegoss since the pass is more or less going to determine the play. 2) The players are signaling service seams they see open / things that could cause chaos. Usually in each ro, there's a target from the scouting anyway (what the coach signals in from the bench), so again it's pretty pointless. But sometimes if your coach's serve signal matches the same general area, you can target the seem that the MB sees.

Why do blockers cover their ears and stick their elbows out when their teammates are serving? to screen the server to the opposing team. Russia is/was notorious for it

What do the setters signal to the players before doing a play? And what do the players signal behind their backs before the player serves? Setter is signaling the attacks she is planning on running, to each (potential) hitter. She will go through the various hitters in some pre-agreed order. Front row players are signaling where/how they plan on blocking, which tells the back row where needs defending.

Why is a let serve in VB in play In tennis it’s a do over
That factor of randomness interrupts normal play If a serve hits the top of the net and doesn’t reach the attack line (unplayable) then replay the serve
Makes perfect sense that it’s no longer a fault

Would Dayton make sense for the Big East ? And was that ever a discussion? Or are only questions about the game and not teams pertinent to this thread ?

Why do blockers cover their ears and stick their elbows out when their teammates are serving? Typically done to protect their own heads from aggressive servers should it hit them/the net. Their elbows sticking out is just another way to “legally” block the opposing passers and make it more of a pain to see where the serve is going to go.

What is considered “out of rotation”, as it seems like players just stand where ever anyway. Like I get the gust of it, but is there like an invisible square they need to be In pre serve or something?
