am i wrong in saying that Washington is harboring an injury? if so, i would prefer to keep her at home to rehab for week 2.
with the short quad - i’m all about letting the rookies prove their worth/develop for 2028 and keeping the core in anaheim to rehab/get reps to keep building connections - especially in the middle. we know what they can do on the big stage (i.e. Washington, Chi, LC, JT, Gov, Cook, etc). let the question marks battle it out in the early stages of these summer tournaments/qualifiers to see if they have what it takes.
I think plummer is on the cusp of turning it around - but she needs to get her groove going on serve receive. she was so crafty in college and used a wide variety of shots - where in her pro/NT seasons, it seems like she’s really taking on the role of the hammer/aggressor. With the first round of VNL done (as i said before) i’m not going to hype any of the new pins up too much. I would love to see if the can sustain this type of play by Aug/Sept once teams adjust and learn their tendencies.
TLDR - keep the vets at home to rehab/work on connections, let the rookies prove themselves, Plummer is almost there be patient.

pls just let it be Cuttino Jesus Christ, god no. I don't know if you're trolling because we rarely diverge in our assessment of players. There are very few players I feel are irredeemable, and Cuttino is, like, on that list. Even Orro has her moments. I just want usa to be mid 🥲 although I do Stan the uo and comers like Avery RJP and some of the vets like Hancock

I'd say that Washington's "locked in" status should be called into question, given her performance post-Tokyo. She should be put to the test alongside all the younger middles. I also think Plummer needs to turn it around and should be given another chance. There should be a focus on performance under mental pressure.

Question, who is more valuable at this point in their careers, Jordan Larson, or Logan Tom immediately following the 2012 Olympics when she was cut? I didn't follow the international scene very much at that time, so I have no idea how much that adds in to their respective pedigrees, but I find it interesting that Tom was dumped after her years of service while Larson is still in the gym. Is Larson just more valuable at this point, or do you believe it was strictly attitude/camaraderie based on Tom's part?

Karch knew there was no way that Tom would buy into his kumbaya plan for the team. And he did the same to Hooker when unfortunately she was under the thrall of her Bonaparte style boyfriend who convinced her of her greatness and ascendent importance to the NT which inflated her ego to gargantuan size. Hooker was a huge loss to the team although tom was in decline and Larson was there to displace her.

Tom's club season contributions post-London were as a stabilizing presence, but I noticed she really struggled to terminate. Larson has had pretty substantial moments with Milano as a fairly complete player still.
