come on Karch bring all 4 of the stanford girls in this summer, idc if they're the worst 4 players in the gym I need it to happen I wish we got to see Fitz play 6 rotation OH/OPP at Stanford. I feel like her all around skill was pretty under utilized lol Possibly, but it was somewhat obvious that Fitz had some pretty serious injury issues at Stanford, especially during her junior and senior year. She did not have nearly the mobility or power that she showed in some of these highlights. I'm glad she has been able to get healthy and have a successful pro career 🙂

Kingdon's stat from the Turkish league this year is actually pretty impressive. Hope she can get a real chance in the NT this year.

I dont mind her in the gym but the girl has been given her chances lmao Actually this is kind of true IMO. She has been on some of the VNL round robin rosters but has always been behind both Krob and Larson and thus never made many finals rosters or major tournament rosters. I think she keeps getting slightly outplayed due to Karch investing in younger talent, which I'm not mad at. Same narrative with SWP. However, Kingdon's stats this season cannot be ignored. What has held her back in the past was her inability to deliver against the top teams. She has done that with THY this year. It all comes down to the setter and she and Carlini have a great connection. I think she got overshadowed by Frantti and Bajema this past summer. I would be willing to wager that she possibly breaks onto the A team this summer. I don't think Karch will go with the same 4 OH's he chose for the WCH. With SWP possibly being injured, the door is wide open. I think only Lanier could spoil her chance this time, which is entirely possible.

Please elaborate. I'm happy to hear what you think here. I'm not 100% sure that Kingdon will make a splash this summer with the NT. I'm just here for it if it happened for her, or anyone else really. I just want the team to make the podium and get some glittery hardware.

They wouldn't start them both. You'd think USA would follow the same formula of a ball control OH (Cook, Kingdon) and an OH who's going to get more kills (Frantti, Plummer, Lanier, Bajema) as they have previously.

At the Olympics, who between JL and MBH was the ball-control and who was the terminator? Seems to me like it worked for USA to have two ball-control OHs so we were always in-system and could set tempo and middle and rarely face fully formed blocks. The other option being go with two terminators that can kill OOS when front row - if you're going to have a weaker serve receive OH on the floor you might as well have two as the opponent can only serve one at a time and you'd at least have a terminal OH front row at all times to clean up the mess. Having JT instead of Annie would help as well with the OOS cleanup.

imo usa needs to put their most terminal OH alongside krob I think this is empirically proven to be a bad plan.
