I don’t think there’s any world where MBH comes back. Idk if Larson will or not. I would have assumed if Bartsch was done, she would land one of the assistant coaching positions open across the country. Not sure she’ll be able to come back to form in time for the Olympics if she hasn’t retired. would she? she just bought a house in Columbus... unless there's an OSU job opening, I dont see her entering the grind and moving again.

Didn’t realize she had built a house in Columbus already! She has one of the cooler comeback stories from that Olympic quad, lots to be proud of with her career.

Larson has one more CWCH than MBH... leagues are kinda hard to compare with Jordan playing in Russia/China. (she won several russian titles)

MBH had an insane career. She went from USA's best offensive OH, with shaky passing, to one of the best passing OHs in the world. We love growth. That being said, her offense was really starting to decline in Tokyo. If Tokyo was 6 months later, I'm not sure she would have been starting. So no, she's not the answer anymore, but Plummer, Frantti, Bajema (hell even SWP) should try to figure out what juice she was drinking

Definitely agree her offense fell off, but I'd argue that it's because she allowed it it could afford to. Team USA heavily relies on OH to put the ball away, and I'd even argue she did a very good job in Tokyo; even if she didn't score, she found ways to force the opponents to struggle. Vakifbank, meanwhile, has insane offensive firepower and stellar passing (so they can rely on middles). At her offensive peak she wouldn't have been an setting priority over 2022 Gabi, Haak, Zehra, or Chi.

Knock off the "kumbaya." It's stupid and old and wasn't funny to begin with!

Yeah, I'm not sure she "allowed" her hitting to digress, but she picked up the other facets of her game (particularly her passing and backrow defense) so she had a longer career! Again, textbook, USA kiddos should study her. But, in Tokyo, she hit .190. With near perfect passing from team USA. I think it's ok to say her offense was no longer elite -- it's more impressive to me that MBH, of all OHs, was on the floor, in the MF-ing Olympics, because of her passing.
Her offense in Vakif was... not good. But agreed. And assuming you mean "passing peak?"

Holy crap... That's bad! I had no idea! Based on eye test alone I thought she looked okay offensively - didn't score a ton but used all the shots available to at least get the opponents scrambling. And assuming you mean "passing peak?" I meant that even 2018 terminal MBH wasn't as good as 2022 Gabi, much less Haak. So even if she had retained her offensive performance, there's no reason to feed her balls.
