Those last 3 games were pretty tight. Congrats to PSU for pulling out the win, and congrats to USC for putting up a great fight despite the diminished hitting personnel. Venski, Copenhagen and Candelas really stepped up. And I'm sure that after tonight, Haley would keep to 5-1 system from the start of the match.

Nice win for PSU in a matchup of teams both working newcomers into their lineups. I was hoping the Lions might slip a little having lost Pederson, Nadeau, and Eshleman (although I suspect Brown will do a good job at that spot) from last year, but they already have two quality wins on the season and the opportunity to get several more before Big Ten play starts. I am sure the travel is tough, but I think that going to Nebraska (twice) and Hawaii to play top teams will help them more than staying home to play not that formidable eastern schools.
