Were no west coast universities interested in hosting this? Probably didn’t want to deal with all of our weird quarter systems tbh

I wonder if they’ll force the college teams to play international rules

This is how the USPV (United States Professional Volleyball) started in 2001. That Dream Team was coached by Ari Selinger, USA Olympic Coach in 84, and they also played college teams around the country, except matches also took place during the Fall as pre-conference matches. This led to the selection of 4 locations to host teams, Minnesota, Grand Rapids, Saint Louis and Chicago.
The college teams scheduled on the AU tour are mainly in the mid-west. Not sure if that has any specific significance.
I really hope that AU gets over the self-coaching and point experimentation stuff. I would like to see all the effort concentrated on getting a viable domestic pro league, and that format is not it.

Well, that brand will be trash if they lose to college teams. lol

I also wonder if beach could play into them not participating either Plenty of West Coast teams are willing to host an exhibition match during spring practice. It's probably more of a travel cost or convenience issue.

"ESPN’s coverage of Athletes Unlimited Volleyball in the fall will complement its coverage of NCAA women’s volleyball at the same time of year."
can we finally get volleyball sundays on espn/2/u? that would be cool.
