The article said the players would be getting paid “around” 60k with up to 100k if they win a championship right? I would imagine that means bench players are getting paid under 60k while starters get somewhere around 60k, and the stars maybe get up to 75k. That dramatically decreases league wide salary compared to saying each team will have 3-4 100k makers with the minimum being 60k. I could be so wrong though and misinterpreted the article The League's statements have described/emphasized base salaries and a living wage, so I understood that to mean a base of $60K with the possibility to earn more, as well as revenue sharing (eventually, I assume). In addition to the player salaries, there are all the other payroll components and expenses that apply, so you can increase that amount by roughly 10-15%. Along with all the other expenses that have been mentioned, $3 Million annually to field a team seems about right. The league isn't a non-profit, so the investor money isn't a donation or tax deductible, except to the extent they are able use losses to off-set tax liability. Realistically, becoming an owner means being willing to endure losses of 1-2 Million annually until, and if, the League becomes profitable.

I just hope there’s enough fan support to back it. They really need to be strategic with where teams are located. This isn’t something where you drop teams in the most populated areas. This HAS to be where there’s large groups of volleyball fans, and let me tell you, that is not really LA or NYC. That’s Nebraska (Omaha/Lincoln), Kentucky (Louisville/Lexington), Columbus, etc. I’m a tiny bit worried about DFW, but there’s a boatload of clubs there. They’ll have my full support of course but, I’m only one person.

They did a little segment on a Bally Sports show with Jenna Rosenthal...
if Bally Sports is the TV partner... that would be dreadful.

Not really digging the logo: Both Mrs. Nyline and I independently had the same reaction to the logo: looks like a swastika-spider hybrid. Unsettling.

There's a horizontal logo that's way better. It's in the story that posts in a few minutes about the franchise.

Interesting. That's the same location as one of the 4 locations the USPV chose 20 years ago.

Wasn't he a guy from Chicago, Kennedy or something? Yes, Bill (William) Kennedy. He also had a home in La Jolla (Ca).
