Okay so Hames pulled a Sandbothe hurling in the trash can during game 4.that’s why Cook was talking to Anni but Hames said she was fine to go. Our seats are right over visitor tunnel. It is a joke that they do not properly check for concussions during volleyball games.

Just got back from the game. Congrats to Wisconsin. Always seem to pull out their best when they play Nebraska.
I thought the difference tonight was 2nd ball. Wisconsin’s setters we’re just so much better than Nebraska’s. They won a lot of the sloppy plays, too.
I was really proud of Batenhorst. I was unaware Knuckles was injured before match, and that’s a big hit to the defense. She’s been back there for 4 years and I know Ally shanked a couple SR but I still think it’s promising for her future. I was hoping to see Kubik really step up at times when they needed someone to and she just didn’t. Krause looked phenomenal.
When Hames got hit in the head she was fine. I’d be way more concerned with all of her floor dives that that hit to the head..
Another one tomorrow. GBR.

But yet they have been. Ten times. Ten times in a row the Wisconsin Badgers have been a better volleyball team than the Nebraska Cornhuskers. And yet one national championship? So perhaps until you get more you probably shouldn’t strut round like a rooster In a small henhouse. Sorry to annoy you with facts. You've got the history, there's no denying that.

If you watch the play on TV she was struggling to get up during the play. if you go by her giving the R1 a thumbs up any top athlete knows to do that or they may be pulled out.

Hope Hames is okay. Hate to see all these late season injuries for many teams this season.

She also had one dive during the ... third set I think where someone landed on her and if that person landed on her head or close enough that her head hit the floor that could do much worse. Besides, even a mini-concussion would leave you vulnerable for another (I'm kind of talking out of my rear now but I think it's a reasonable concern). Now that a 1 seed and a title is off the table I hope that Nebraska rests her tomorrow either way.

I was there in attendance and watched her finish the play, proceed to be quite persistent she was fine while smiling and laughing to her team, then proceeded to do the same to the coach that came over to confirm with her, then watched her do the same to the up official. I guess concussions I’ve seen normally don’t pose that same response.

Should not have been put in for set 4 then. I'm a ref and years ago I was reffing 17 Open in chicago. A setter took a ball to the face like she did and I could see she was woozy. I got off the stand, told the coach what I saw and asked my R2 what else we could do (I wanted to call over a trainer). He stated that if the coach allows her to play then that's it. College seems to be the same way. No concussion testing, no pulling the kid to ask her some questions, if the coach says play on you play on. SMH In my state if a coach or ref suspects a concussion, the player may not return to play without being cleared by a M.D. or D.O. Not an EMT or 'trainer'. And this isn't a guideline or a suggestion from a tournament or the USAV region, it's state law. I'd like to see it applied to collegiate athletes as well, but right now it's only applied to minors.

No, the team won't brag about it I am sure. Bragging right is for the fans.
