But what about the student-athletes already there, putting in their dues to develop, don't get game-time experience, and then get overrecruited? There are some really good players sitting on the bench. College is not just obtaining skills pertinent to a student's future industry of choice, but also to ingrain hard lessons about the real world. No one is owed anything and everyone is replaceable. If the transfer portal, or getting recruited over, is emotionally taxing for a student-athlete, then they better grow a thicker skin. Life gets much tougher once they graduate. Right? Surprise, guess what, this is a meritocracy and you're not a good as you thought you were. So-and-so is playing better than you are, so you're going to sit the bench today.

Erin Carmichael (Jacksonville St libero) is getting interest from Creighton, Illinois, and Nebraska How is she? I’d be very much down for a three littles back row in NE. I thought the plan for Nebraska would be to play Beason all six rotations, as well as one OH playing all six rotations.

Well yes, with the current roster makeup that would likely be the plan. But if we can bring in another elite backrow player, why not use two defensive specialists? Nebraska won a championship in 2015 by subbing out both outsides and keeping their opposite 6 ro. Beason provides the chance to do that again and we could have a trio of Rodriguez, Choboy and Carmichael. It helps transition from Kubik moving on as well.

And we just graduated an OH who became one of the best passers in the country in her time at Nebraska lol, so yea I think we’re ok in that department.

Yeah but if we could get a DS who’s better at passing and defense than one of our OH’s playing backrow, then why not?

If it doesn't bother Ally Batenhorst or Linsdsey Krause, then it doesn't bother me.

Don't worry, the second portal window is quickly coming up, Ally and Lindsey will have a home in Happy Valley if they're not happy. 🙃

Judging from her Instagram, she seemed to like the stadium visit. Is Dan Fisher secretly Nigerian or something? I did get an email from him claiming he's a prince, and offering me a handsome reward to help him get some funds out of the country. I'm going to be rich!
