idk if this was posted ab but the volleyball mag interview Q&A with John Cook recently where he said he doesnt like players transferring within conference when asked about Podraza and Murr at MN and psu... was he not recruiting Podraza lmao As always, he’s a hypocrite. Fabulous coach, has done amazing things for Nebraska and the sport, but genuinely don’t like him as a person.

Fabulous coach, has done amazing things for Nebraska and the sport, but genuinely don’t like him as a person. This quote reminds me of his statement after Nebraska beat Texas for the NC in 2015. He said that playing the tougher conference schedule in the Big 10 better prepared the team for the NCAA tournament. Then when Texas beat Nebraska the next year in the semis, he said the tough conference schedule wore out the team for the tournament.

Was that a real possibility or just Volleytalk talk? Seems unlikely, 2 yr scholarship deal for one year of playing. But not familiar with OR scholarship and team situation. For the life of me I can’t remember who the Oregon opposite is, so if it’s an issue of trying to fit 3 good middles on the court, wouldn’t be surprised to see them try and make a 3 middle offense work with Ofoegbu on the right pin. She pretty much hit everywhere but out of the backrow for Irvine

I like pointing out dumb things cook says as much as the next guy, but these aren’t mutually exclusive viewpoints. He may have been reflecting on the mental state of the team being more fragile than years past. The same things that can push you to greatness in life can also wear you out depending on how you respond to stressors.

Please, be less smart, more Michigan going forward. Sincerely, Management

eazy & madden55 do you both feel like Lewis can hold down that spot vs Bacon, Ofoegbu, and McGhee?

The Ducks have either 6 or 7 of 12 scholarships freeing up in December with super-seniors graduating. Oregon is also on a quarter system where it's easier for NIL to bridge the cap through the Fall season (not sure whether that's happening here, but I know it has been a consideration).
If you look at how many expected-to-be-contributors are graduating for Oregon this year, it makes sense, if it fits with player goals, to bridge into '24 season with a quality proven player (particularly given the 2024 class isn't that large). What does not make sense is Oregon adding another M2 to play in 2023.

If I had to guess, Bacon is probably the most likely to lose her spot.
