Louisville exposed that the first time they played them at Pitt and almost escaped with the win. The next time around at Louisville, Cardinals took advantage of that in a convincing sweep. Dalton puts up a nice block with her height and can get kills, but her passing to me is her Achilles heel. I agree with you in those matches her passing was really bad- but on the season it’s reverse Yup, I only mentioned those matches because they were pivotal for both teams in NCAA seeding, and it showed where Dalton stood in the passing department against a Final Four competition-like team in Louisville, she struggled. I think if she was on it, Pitt could have swept Louisville at home and pushed Louisville past 3 sets at their home as well.

I think Pitt, more than any other team in the country, HAS to be in-system in order to be successful just because of how much they rely on their middles and opp's offensively

Byu could be in it and steal a set if they just clean up their passing

So Pitt appears to run a modified 6-2, right? There's at least a half rotation where Fairbanks is in the front row starting at left-front and she's the only setter on the court. She attacked on two in the front row at one point tonight and reminded me that I wanted to ask that.

The announcers tonight seemed to suggest it was health-related- a minor injury maybe? That was going to be my second guess. Maybe a blessing in disguise for Pitt I don't think Ennis is better in the front row though. Guess we'll see.

But honestly, I think the success we saw in the 1st set in those situations tells me more about how BYU played in that set than it does about Pitt. IDK, maybe I'm off base, but I've watched almost every Pitt match this year.
