Sort of random; but did anyone notice that LSU was running a 5-2? If this has already been commented on, my apologies. I just can't recall the last time I saw a team running a 5-2. Yeah they usually do a double sub. Vondran across the front row, and Waak and the OPP (sometimes Jacobs, sometimes Hill) come in when Vondran rotates to back row.

Is Stanford offense one dimensional or is Kipp really just that good. Kipp is clearly the star of the team (and can now hit from anywhere- so, feed the beast you know?) She often leads the team in kills (and points) but usually Baird or Rubin are fairly close to her output. Vicini is contributing more and more in the middle - even when she's not getting a lot of kills, she's at least getting more swings. Kipp gets it done. Consistently. She's that good. Kipp is just beginning to learn how to play at a high level and reach her potential. The two things that have been holding her back are consistency and learning how to read and tool a block. Basically she's hitting over .300 for the year mostly because of her physical dominance. Last night, she eliminated almost all of the dumb little hitting errors, and several times used the block to her advantage by tooling the outside hand of an LSU blocker. Sure she had her usual OTT kills, but what I'm excited about for next season is the upward trajectory of her play.
