I think San Diego will rise to the challenge and be focused for this one. I think they'll play WSU the way they played BYU at home.

it takes a bit adjusting to being the 'hunter' intead of the 'hunted'. beating unc 3-1 is not a concern. mad respect to unc -- they're no slouch, and always seem to play tough against whatever seeded team they are pitted against come tourney time.
it'll be a quick adjustment for san diego, and they won't let their fans down at home. i can see this going the distance, but san diego advances.

San Diego showed some vulnerability in their first match. WSU is capable of an upset. Will it happen? Well all pins need to be firing and they need to serve well, because San Diego is very good. And their middle blockers (Jehlarova and Wojdyla) need to dominate the net (5 and 8 blocks vs UNLV). |

I love that San Diego is getting a PAC team with big, fast hitters in the second round -- they're going to have to raise their play from last night a LOT to go far in the tourney, and I think this will help them get back to their pre-season form and forget some of the bad habits they picked up against lesser WCC teams. Just like Towson last night, it just takes time to figure out that you can play at a much higher level than you have been.
