Oregon doesn't have a Top 10 recruit. Nebraska has TEN Top 10 recruits (including 8 in the Top 4). It's kind of crazy this is an argument. what?? who cares about what they were ranked when they were 17 years old?? far more crazy that you just made THAT argument as a way of comparing talent on a collegiate roster. was Lanier better than Plummer in college? not even close but she was ranked higher in high school. the question was who has the more talented team, not who did prep volleyball think was better 3-4 years ago Most of NE high ranking HS recruits that are still playing are Freshman or sophomores, so 1 or 2 yrs ago. Not familiar with OR, but NE is a young team. Note, I left a lot of empty space in this post, which is all most of the very wordy posts are anyway. Madden did you and/or your mother ever play volleyball in high school or college? No shade intended just curious. Trying too understand you better. Not sure why? Oh yeah to get to 30 pages. |

I always thought the lyric was "from sea to shining sea," not "from Omaha to Scottsbluff." Oh, man. I read that as Scottsdale for a second, and laughed, because it seems like there's a huge population of Nebraska fans and Steelers fans in the Phoenix area. Awesome steeler bar in Cave Creek! |

I saw a post on a Facebook group about this. I have a lot of respect for Cook, I am grateful for his work rebuilding Wisconsin in the 1990s in a tough situation. Not a fan now. Still, he is absolutely right. Trying to build the sport, no way this match at 10 AM Central, 8 AM Pacific on a Thursday is good for volleyball. Most matches while potential fans are at work or school doesn't help. This is a very intriguing matchup for volleyball fans, I think.

The early game time is weird. I don't think it hurts either team. Both teams will be ready to play and the volleyball will be high level. Lots on the line and two very good teams will compete for the win. GBR!

Looks like volleyball got bumped out by DII football and men's college soccer on ESPN2 and ESPNU. I'd be so curious to see the ratings differential between those two and top-tier tournament volleyball. |

I definitely agree this early game time is an opportunity lost to showcase the great sport of volleyball. It will make it hard for many fans to see the game live and that's not good for the sport. I believe that volleyball is trending up in popularity and it's too bad the NCAA isn't capitalizing on this chance to showcase a couple of excellent programs.
