Re the schedule, UW has to be practical. 2023 will be a rebuilding year, but this team can be competitive and make the NCAA Tournament, but the right preseason schedule will be crucial. What I'd like to see happen:
Week 1: @ Vegas - UNLV, Weber State, Utah Valley State Weel 2: @ Mountain - Colorado State, Denver, Northern Colorado Week 3: Home Host - Houston, St. Johns, Princeton Week 4: Home Host with Oregon- LBSU, Hawaii
STOP WITH THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TEAMS FROM THE BIG 10 PLEASE

Looks like a lot of potential assistant coach job applications. Could be happy with any of them. What assistant coach names are being floated and who are people pulling for?

Lots of names out there, no way to know who Tui has contacted already. A name that I haven't heard, but could be an excellent choice is Kylin Munoz. Has worked her way up and been doing well at Loyola Marymount. Sonja T. is available and could do better as a position coach than in her hc position at ASU. I think we'll know pretty soon. Hoping before players return to campus.

Kylin Munoz looks like she is doing well as a coach. Very cool. Could be great as a recruiter. Who are other program legacy names who have coaching resumes? Melanie Wade? Kindra Carlson? Tama would be a dream hire, but who knows if she would want to leave coaching with USA volleyball....
What about club coaches like Mike Gee from NPJ volleyball club? (I don't really know anything about him other than he coached Audra, and future 2024 recruit Alexis Haury (S) in club)

Really cool seeing all the alum speak out in favor of the new HC. I feel like all of Volleytalk and the volleyball community at large is happy for her lol

If Tui is considering club coaches then Shannon Pratt would be a dream hire. She has coached some of the best players in the Puget Sound, has her bona fides as a libero/player, and would be an amazing recruiter. The biggest issue is probably the $$ as Shannon runs a successful club in Seattle.

Is Thompson in line for a UW position? They need coaches for setters, hitters, and defenders. Courtney, Krista/Sanja, and Tama?

Tui has spent most of her time as the coach for the middles and the blocking game. Although, I was surprised to look through her bio and see that she was the setter and defensive specialist coach (~2006-2014) including the period when Jenna Hagglund was the setter. I always think Jenna was an under-appreciated player for Huskies. It couldn't have been easy following a legend (Thompson). Does anyone know if Thompson wants to coach at the college level? She has has 1 season with Pepperdine men as a volunteer, and 1 season with Stanford women as a college coach. Anyone know why things didn't work out at Stanford? I know she is passionate about the UW, and people love her, so you would have to give her a look if she wanted the job.

I’m a huge CThomp fan! Courtney was very generous with her time during my daughters recruiting process and my daughter has kept every email CT sent her. She was a terrific role model and mentor and it is easy to understand why so many in the Puget Sound area still love her. If she is interested I hope Tui considers her for a position.
I have a feeling that if Courtney wants to be a great volleyball coach she will be one. One thing about Courtney is she does everything 100%, perhaps Sh got a taste of college coaching and decided it wasnt something she could dedicate herself to.

I remember an interview CT did shortly after the '05 title match when she said one of her ambitions was to become a university athletic director. I have no idea if that's still an interest. I also don't know the typical ideal resume for acquiring the position, other than you better be able to manage down and up and raise money and keep a lot of people happy while having your coaches do a lot of winning. Off the top of my head, I can't name any VB coach who became an AD, but there may be some.

The issue has been getting teams to agree to home-and-aways, as opposed to wanting a rent-an-opponent on their own floor. I'm not sure that Keegan or Jason having coached here would make them more or less likely to schedule the Huskies in Seattle. Did you see ND in Hec Ed?
