I need some VT analysis. How big of a deal is this get of May Pertofsky?
She will be a senior? Will she have only one year of eligibility at UW?
Inquiring minds are too lazy too look all this stuff up.

I don't think she moves the needle for Washington next year, but she does add a body to the roster (which we need). She doesn't help what UW needs most as she doesn't pass, and even if she moves to middle, she's not elite there. She will make a 3rd three-rotation pin on the roster (which is the max a program like Washington should have), albeit the most experienced of the ones on the roster. She has one year of eligibility left, so, as I said, a roster filler for next year. After Pertofsky, by my count, Washington has two open scholarships for 2023 if Summers comes back, and three if she doesn't. If she isn't returning, another Middle is a must. the second most critical is a solid passing OH. Bush got some reps last year and Wilmes is "waiting in the wings", but Endsley, Pertofsky and the incoming frosh Barton are not passers. If we are going to a 6-2 next year (debatable), we won't have much in the way of serving subs. It's why I'd have preferred to have Grote. She by no means is an elite passer, but she at least adds SOME experience to build on in that department and has played backrow and has two years of eligibility left. The last scholarship needs to be for a setter. Either a decent one able to push for a 5-1, or a solid one to add depth for a 6-2.

Inquiring minds are too lazy too look all this stuff up. Solid right side option. Not sure of their needs there. Good get if they had a scholarship available. Truly nasty serve when she can get it in. Last year, she didn't, so she didn't serve much. Good to simulate true nastiness on the serve in practice at least.

I’m excited to see what May can do with some new setters! Big fan of hers.

She should have come a year or two earlier to get on the EMP hitter gravy-train.

I still want Grote and a middle please! And if we are committing to a 6-2, a 1 year setter. Not looking good for her coming to UW Grote signs with MB

I think Tui looks to get her best players on the court. I don't think Pertofsky is one of those and very intrigued with what what Endsley can do here. Wilmes or her will be the opposites.

We've got room for one more grad transfer, even if Summers stays. Wilmes' claim to start is that she is the only six-rotation OH on the roster. She needs to become stronger in the front row, however.

I've never seen volleyball players "ride the bench" anyway, unless they were injured. They all seem to stand up the whole match.
