they better keep the lights on the crowd dim af
they were smart enough to book an arena with only 7000 capacity though...that could help
gotta pull out all the stops though

Pretty sure the 2026 World Cup final will be in Arlington so I mean it canβt be that bad of a choice

I like the move to host in a 7000 seat arena
in a perfect world, they pull on the DFW club base, get those kids to come out. Austin and Houston are doable via drive, hopefully some of those in the club scene in those cities decide to come. Families of players, and general fans both domestic and international can come because it's easily accessible from the Dallas Airport (20 minute drive)
likely won't be seeing sellouts but hopefully they can create an environment...marketing will be key so I won't hold much hope

With a guaranteed place in the finals now, I hope this means that we see some newer faces in the earlier rounds. Give me Lanier and Ruddins! Give Anna Hall more playing time!

Assuming it's being held in UT-Arlington's arena, which I think what the press release says, the teams are in for a treat. That's a really, really nice, venue - and about the perfect size for an event like this on American soil.

Pretty sure the 2026 World Cup final will be in Arlington so I mean it canβt be that bad of a choice Having lived most of my adult life in Arlington, I do find the choice a bit puzzling. World Cup will be at AT&T (Cowboys) Stadium. Most people attending will be staying in Dallas or Fort Worth as well going to those cities for most of their "night life" and dining out. Arlington has some of each, but it's more for families vacationing at Six Flags or Wet & Wild or going to football/baseball games (Rangers Globe Life Field is next to AT&T). The VNL is scheduled for UT-Arlington's arena in the middle of Arlington and 3-5 miles from AT&T and the surrounding area that contains what exists in Arlington for good hotels and some night life. So if the event is supposed to draw international visitors and visitors from other areas of the country, they likely are going to be disappointed in their distance from most decent hotels, restaurants, and night life. Now if they are expecting mostly local people to attend, likely a location in the North Dallas suburbs would have been better for a volleyball event. That area is more of a volleyball hotbed than the Arlington/Fort Worth side of the Metroplex and also has almost all of the top volleyball clubs.

Well, Shreveport wasn't exactly known as a volleyball hotbed of the country (even though...yes there is a lively volleyball community down there). As for Arlington...meh...we'll see I guess, that's all I can say at this point. LoneStar is in DFW, so itβs a pretty big VB destination Iβd say Sure, not disputing that...although I can think of a few places where the local community has an even stronger volleyball interest...as in likely to fill the place to capacity.
