The list only appears to contain national champions.

The list omits Hawaii 2002 and 2003 teams. It may be time to give it up. Couldn't convince anybody then, hard to convince anybody now. Guess you could append to the question "in the minds of the Wahine faithful."

Poll Question: In your opinion, which team is the greatest NCAA team to ever play? In my opinion, the best team ever is not listed.... Hawaii of 2002 and/or 2003. Followed closely by Idaho 1995.

Maybe someone will start a poll of the "Best teams that did not win a national championship."
I'm guessing Hawaii will clean up in that one. So many great teams that just couldn't close the deal.

The 1988 UCLA team has to be up there for that one too having been undefeated heading into the Final Four.
Hawaii lost in the championship match to Texas that year as I recall too though.

I voted 2003 USC. They were so balanced and dominant. Even when they lost a game, you never felt they were in danger of losing a match. If not for them, Mary would have 1, maybe 2 national titles as USC ended Florida's season in 2002 and 2003. I just think in this day and age, to go undefeated and do it so dominantly puts them above all the rest. I agree, the 2003 USC dominated top 5 opponents in 2003, that's unheard of, especially on consecutive nights in that NACWAA. The way they swept opponents - ranked at that - was unbelievable.

Stanford 96. this team could probably still be competitive vs. today's teams.
