I’m just curious, why did Beason leave Florida? What causes a strong student-athlete to shift directions and leave everyone she has built relationships with there? It just seems odd. Isn’t Stucky the best young setter out there? Florida won the SEC. Is the NIL the difference?

I'm familiar with Nebraska's transfer history. Does the name Briana Holman ring a bell? That was before the existence of the transfer portal, and the immediate eligibility, but you can start there to understand how Cook's philosophy has evolved. Do the names Kelsey Robinson and Mary Pollmiller ring a bell? I understand his philosophy and it has always been that he owes the other players on the team and the fans the best team he can put on the floor. It is actually his job and what he is payed for. I have always advocated that players should be free to transfer (at least once), so you're preaching to the choir.

Things worked out for Holman in the end anyways. Graduated with 2 rings 😚 random fun fact: she's currently tearing up the Israeli pro league That's good news. I hadn't heard anything on her since she played part of a season in AU.

38 players had transferred in 2014 between schools in the top 7 conferences and not a single one of them had been denied the immediate eligibility. Back then, schools did deny transfers on a fairly consistent basis, and I'm not sure those stats would reflect that since the transfer didn't actually take place. Schools also denied transfers on a conditional basis, for example, not within conference or not to specific schools. Holman's tranfer to Nebraska was denied by the coach/school for a specific reason. Whether or not it was fair or right was hotly debated at the time, but it also set off a larger discussion about the right and ability of student-athletes to transfer freely, which eventually led to the situation we have now. Like when Cook denied Taylor Simpson's transfer to Kansas St. (after he told her he wouldn't and she was already enrolled). Or how he got Werth to stay by threatening denial. But the sanctimony of Huskers knows no bounds.

Wow, this is peak sanctimony, and how horrible of you to use that to try to evade responsibility for your own hypocrisy. Hoolie/chas would be proud. Cook is a huge hypocrite for getting on a high horse about Flory denying a release, and you all gathering your torches and pitchforks behind him just makes you look like tools.
