I wonder who will win the spots at the pins. Krause looks the best of the all. Batenhorst is getting kills now, but can be pretty high error. Whit same thing. All three clearly improved a lot from last year. Lindsay plays with a lot of fire and has been steady since the end of october. Ally is swinging harder and she’s gotten do much better at swinging for the hands. Whit even took a few nice swings down the line over the Nunneviller a couple times. I’m interested to see which of these three don’t play if Murray comes in hot. Batenhorst's passing the last two+ weeks impressed me tbh. I beg they spend the spring/whenever working on Ally's contact point.

I’m sad to have the season end, but I’m super excited about next year. I’m desperate for a Nebraska team with a setter that is special. I was hopeful that was Orr, but that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. I’m all on the Bergen train now. If she is special, we are going to love just how terminal our hitters can be. Agree, IMO we have terminal hitters, need better setting.

Ideally it would be two of them, with Choboy as a DS for the third pin.

I am cautiously optimistic for Reilly.
I also still think an offseason can help Orr a lot. Hopefully she stays healthy physically and mentally and has alooot more time for training.

I don’t see any scenario in which Orr excels at Nebraska. I don’t think it’s anyone’s fault, but a change is probably in the best interest of both parties.

It all comes down to setting. Inconsistent setting equals inconsistent hitters. I appreciate Nicklin and Evans’ grit, but they were outplayed often this year and especially this morning by Pukis. Hames appeared to have injury that increasingly limited her in the tournament. Her signature defensive plays were mostly missing today. Definitely an extremely gritty player. Evans super hard worker. One thing I noticed today was how slow she was to get off the floor after rallies. I will always respect how hard she competed and how she represented Nebraska Volleyball.

The transfer portal will be interesting this off season

But she wasn't selected to join the 2022 U19 Pan American Cup *because* she committed to Nebraska... I know. im just pointing out inconsistencies and bias in rankings. Im not saying Andi isnt a top 30/whatever player. Just when she got associated with nebraska, that's when the "rankings" took notice. She grew in height and vertical. Some develop later than others. Whitney is another example. Regardless of how or why they’re ranked where they are, the high rankings generate high expectations and high pressure. For John, the bar is Russ Rose, not some other coaches I don’t want to name.

Murray/Krause Allick/Mendelson Reilly/Lauenstein Rodríguez
If I was a Nebraska fan, my dream world would involve Murray being a solid six rotation outside from day 1, Lauenstein developing better defense and a D ball, and Choboy DSing in middle back a la Knuckles.

Agree it might be best for Orr to move on. I think she was given enough time to prove herself it just did not happen. Granted it was not a 5-1 but when you think about the fact Cook felt more comfortable with a less than 100% Hames and Evans who you would not think of as a D1 top tier program setter says a lot where Orr is currently at.
