is it possible someone is smart enough to earn a full ride academic scholarship? Yes, there is that possibility as well as getting scholarships just like any non student athlete. IMO, unless we have a transfer setter nobody knows about yet, taking Orr’s scholarship (can’t do anyways) would be a terrible idea. I believe Bergen Reilly is going to be darned good from the moment she steps on campus, but as we learned this year, Nebraska isn’t immune to injury and without two setters if Orr were to leave as a result, your playing with fire. Shoot I think we are with two anyways. I hope Whitney leaving is just a rumor, and also don’t think it’s an unpopular opinion for the possibility that it is just that. She’s a local girl who many Nebraskans have come to love. Time will tell! I guess we should’ve noticed something. She was on fire early in the season and then she seem to be struggling. She didn’t look the same.We thought it was sickness. Sometimes we forget these kids are just young students trying to make their way through. We do love Whitney,And it would be great to see her in red but if she’s happier doing something else, then so be it.

they're not pulling anyone's. is it possible someone is smart enough to earn a full ride academic scholarship? Most likely not, the full ride regents scholarship is given to incoming freshman, with a 32+ on the act and a good gpa and such. So not one of the current players, potentially a freshman but also not likely.

Two things here. You better have personnel watching the portal several times a day. The coaches have to contact immediate difference-makers immediately after entry. Or else here, most assuredly, with Miss Beason you get left in the dust. She is a prime example of someone who knows what she wants and acts with speed and efficiency. Most likely Beason had already back-channeled with people connected to those programs before entering the Portal. We know that players do that - how else can Jenna Wenaas enter the Portal and have it say "do not contact" (as reported on the Portal Tea thread)? Fleck also said that she reached out to players on the Texas team to gauge interest in advance. fields said she did the same at usc I believe, reached out to tuaniga to see what it was like over there first

Just saw this on the transfer tea thread but Reyes and Podraza just started following each other I don’t want Podraza. Much rather have Reilly run the show.

they're not pulling anyone's. is it possible someone is smart enough to earn a full ride academic scholarship? In football you can’t. NCAA rules says something like if offered a scholarship for a d1 sport a student can’t take an academic scholarship at any d1 school without counting towards that sports scholarship limit if that student plays that sport. So although Lexi probably could be a full ride academically you can’t do this. Isn’t this the county scholarship issue from the 90s?

Any student-athlete, in any sport, can receive institutional financial aid which is available to any general student, including academic scholarships. In Football and Basketball, those athletes must be counted against the team's athletic scholarship limit. In every other sport, they are not required to be counted against athletic scholarship limits.

In the back of my head, I thought she might pull the rug from under all of us and do her Covid year at Rice, Houston, etc., considering that her boyfriend is transferring to Rice to play football. I have zero knowledge of pro volleyball in Puerto Rico. What's the talent level like there? Is this a good move for her?

Curious if anybody can tell me just how good exactly Choboy is expected to be? imo she will be up to knuckles level by the end of the season. I expect her to be a better defender than knuckles, and maybe a bit of a weaker passer. (that’s no shade to Choboy, but Knuckles has a lot of experience passing in the B1G, might be a bit of an adjustment for Choboy.)

Curious if anybody can tell me just how good exactly Choboy is expected to be? Expected? Really good. And probably take the L jersey once Rodriguez graduates. You can see Choboy (along with the rest of the Nebraska recruits) tomorrow on ESPN at 3pm, and see for yourself!

She was supposed to go to Turkey (a top 2 league in the world) but chose not to.
