Minnesota needs to throw their scholarships at the best 2-3 back court people they can find. It's a no-brainer. Have you looked at how scholarships are allocated? It would not be uncommon for there to only be one backrow player with a scholarship on the entire team. Certainly not three. 2021 Runner Up Nebraska (Akana/Knuckles/Rodriguez) and 2022 National Champ Texas (Akana/Fleck/Halter) are two examples of three littles on scholarship for teams. It may not be common but it has been done pretty successfully. |

I still want defense, for example, Marci Taumalolo. But yes, KCook should find at least one with B1G 10 experience and knowledge. Marci would be a great get! MN legend, and fits the hiring criteria for Coyle. Would be nice to see her back in Maroon and gold! |

Cook will need to bring in a cerebral AC who knows the B1G well, who is a steady communicator who is week respected and who can recruit well. I am excited to see who he brings in to complement his style. What about Kristen Kelsay? I saw her present at convention this week, and she has contagious energy that draws you in, so I looked at her resume. She played at Michigan State and coached at both at MSU and NW. She was also the Recruiting Coordinator at Northwestern when they landed an impressive 2022 class and the 2023 lib that’s playing in the UA All American game next month. Funny you mention this, I noticed her this weekend as well. She seemed like a magnet for B1G players and various coaches from around the nation to come say hi and connect with. As I sat at the bar for waaay to long, I was struck by how many people mentioned her name and were pulling for her to get back in the game. People were mentioning her setting clinic at the convention and how amazing it was. She also seemed to be hanging out a ton with one of her club players or a younger player who I heard was a phenominal setter. I know Keegan made an appearance and Hugh was there, but I never noticed them all together but that could have been by design. |

I've been steeling myself against this inevitability from the first match with Jenna as OPP Selfishly hoping for some kind of miracle Left wondering who will become the 'glue' that will bind the future squad as it appeared she did for this one. On court leadership. We will hope that the new coach will move the program forward. It's encouraging, in the madness, of portal portability, that Huskie players stuck with their coach & program without defecting for other opportunities. |

Also notable that AD said the U looks for humble yet achieving coaches -- which kind of made me wonder if some high profile names were never really candidates  |

I would love to see them go but its a lot to ask of a brand new coach. Next year could be better in that regard. Spring tournament in Hawaii would be nice though. |

I don't think Coach Cook is looking at the portal as of yet, it sounds like he's just trying to get his bearings and getting to know his team. I'm worried we may miss out on some players, but praying some will come through.🤞

He better be looking at the portal because we ain’t got no back row. I know. I'm just going off what he said in the press conference today. He said right now he's just trying to get to know the team. He may already be in contact with someone interested in MN, I have no idea. The vibe I got was that it's been a whirlwind and he's still trying to get his bearings. He could be miles ahead already, who knows. 🤷 |
