Wisconsin has to be better tonite than against Penn State. Not sure what Kelly was up to in that match, but it seemed he had absolutely no clue.
Love Julia, but teams still target her with their serves. I also will lose my mind if I see more of her weak swings against Pitt.
Pitt is no joke. If the Badgers bring a performance like the last match, they will lose in 3. Let's F'n Go!
Play like what you are! The Defending National Champions!
On Wisconsin!

Just realized I had Pitt’s record wrong in the OP. Fixed, with my apologies.

With Wisconsin playing a 6-2 offense, one of the servers is always backrow. Meaning they are never part of the serve-receive. And because of the demand on the substitution count that takes, UW also rarely if ever brings in a DS for one of the lefts. That leaves you with the serve receive of GG, Orzol and Franklin the whole time (the only variation is which of Orzol and Franklin is front row and which is back row). According to the 'box score' for Thursday night's rough serve-receive match, Franklin was aced 4 times, and GG 6 times. Orzol was zero times. Additionlly, Orzol served 25 times and UW won the point 14 of the 25. That's a sideout percent against of only 44%. That's really as good as you can hope for. Even taking away the run that won the 5th set, she was 9 points won on 19 serves, a 52.6% sideout against. Only MJ had a better night serving (15 of 24 won).

I said teams target her with THEIR serves. You can type until your fingers are blue to try and prove me wrong and you will never succeed. Knock yourself out little guy. By the way, I said I love Julia, but am not afraid to point to some negatives. Every player has them. Good news is that she is still growing as player and improving. I see growth every match. Glad we have her.

Not sure where I "trolled you?" I refer to a lot of people as "little guy." Don't take everything so personally. I'm 6'6" 230 pounds. Beach VB god. Haha. Most are little to me. I just was explaining to you that Julia is at times targeted by other teams with their serve. And her swings are a bit weak at times, when she isn't intending them to be. Never said a word about her serve being weak. Let's go beat Pitt. Will be a tough match. On Wisconsin!

And I was explaining to you that when there are only three possible targets, saying a team is focusing specifically on one of them is probably a bit subjective without numbers to back it up. Do you know what the actual serve-receive numbers were for Thursday night? Sidearm stats will show them in their box scores, but if there was one for Thursday night, I'm not finding it. But in terms of serve-receive errors. aka aces, if they were targeting Orzol, she held up quite well, because she was not aced the entire match. Calling someone "little guy" is being disrespectful, no matter the circumstances. I assume you know that. Stop it.

I'm sorry that I added to your insecurity issues. I will try to remember your issues. I wasn't just referring to the last match against Penn State when I was noting Julia's weak swings and teams targeting her with SOME of their serves. Again, she is still a developing player and getting better every match. She is a keeper.

Should be a good match. Looking forward to it. Unfortunately for Pitt, the Badgers had a poor performance against Penn State and normally look lights out in the match following a poor showing.

This quote from Fisher has me just generally excited: “It’s an interesting challenge,” Pittsburgh coach Dan Fisher said. “They’re a physical team with a good block and we’re a team that likes to take rips. So that’ll probably be one of the story lines, their block and us getting after it.”
Let's do this. Strength on strength. Elite eight volleyball.

Orzol is our best, most reliable passer. If teams think they have GG or Franklin on their heels, they will target them. Outsides that are front row get targeted in SR to put them on their heels and reduce their attacking efficiency. UW will sometimes pinch them out of SR to reduce the chance of that succeeding.
I know she hit negative, but some of those errors from Orzol were really close, she had a couple remarkable kills, and they played good floor D on her. The sets to her are often non-optimal and she's hitting against a set block. In those situations, she's there to limit errors, score when she can and get the other team OOS so the block can do it's job. Compared to when she started she is way more intelligent about reading which option is available to her.
On the other side, she is also one of our better floor defenders. Had 16 digs to GGs 18, and often those digs are right on target allowing the badgers to run their transition.

Yeah, but Dan failed to mention that Robinson and Franklin will be taking "rips" as well.
