Any update on the spring schedule? Usually around this time every year is when UNC hosts a small spring tournament.

UNC played Liberty, Virginia Tech, and Campbell Sunday at Triangle. Admission was permitted at a cost and there were several other regional college teams there. I did go and I think that UNC fans will mainly be happy with the tournmant yesterday. UNC swept all of its opponents and without tracking data, pretty sure they hit over .300 in every set except maybe 1 or 2. Granted, it was weaker competition, but in the past we have played down to that. Not yesterday.
Few Highlights:
LS: Mabrey still looks fabulous. I think she is hitting even harder this spring due to resting her shoulder over the winter break. She was running more combination plays and working in some more finnesse in her shots. Cadence Shea is clearly the second OH right now. Cadence has a cannon (we knew this) and her passing is coming along. She is extremly terminal and a good blocker as well. Those two have potential to be a very formidable duo. Swain did get some time, but not nearly as much as Shea. Swain has a leg up on the defensive end but she is much more of a keep the ball in play attacker, not an OOS attacker. Shea crushed an OOS set against one of the teams straight down at the 10 foot line in position 4. It was absolute beauty.
MH: Kaya and Swift played middle as MO was not dressed out. Dealing with injury. Swift to me showed by she deserves to start over Mo....Swift has angles on offense that are unreal. I think she is faster to close the block and a better all around floor general as a blocker. That will be a very stiff competition come fall. Kaya was Kaya. Her slide looks more polished and she run a couple plays hitting on the LS when when the LS attacker came to the middle to run a combo play. All in all, both had very good offensive and defensive days.
Rs: Romani Thurman will be a freshman of the year candidate. Bookmark it. This girl is off the charts athletic. Reminds me of a smaller framed Chanel Nelson. She is smaller, but leaps out of the gym. Typical lefty can work the entire court. Only critique of Romani is the typical freshman complaint fo hitting into the block too much. That will get better with more reps and court vision. Swain and Shea also took reps there. I actually thought Swain looked better on the RS without the pressure of passing and transitioning to offense.
Setting: Babic is continuing to polish her game. I felt more fire and leadership from her. I thought her slide sets were much cleaner and her connection with Swift annd Shea is super clean. We have a good one running the offense.
Defense: May played really well. Her usual eye popping digs and received pretty well. Meyerhoefer and Overbeck also got time and those 3 looked very sharp.
Coaching Staff: Wow. This is going to be a great staff. Mike was very invovled and made good adjustments but Rachel and Parker were both very involved and constructive. There is a refreshing energy with the 3 of them and nothing was hectic or crazy, team was calm when things were off, but passionate and energetic. The team respnded well to their game plans and all coaches interacted well.
Overall, this team and chemistry is MUCH better. In just these scrimmages, I think we are much more terminal, well rounded, and having a true opposite will make a huge difference in ou offense. I think this team has potential to finally turn the corner in the fall. And this is all without Emani, Sydney, and Safi, all very skilled and could all break thorugh to challenge for spots.

Is Zoe still coming in? Or do we only have the one setter on the roster?

Is Zoe still coming in? Or do we only have the one setter on the roster? She is still committed to UNC.

She is a stud. Rumor is Mike had been working on this one a week or two and now possibly a DS/libero to help with serve receive. I do not see her dethroning Babic, pretty sure that I could see her in a 5-2 like I think they did at HPU. Or a 6-2 with Romani as OPP

I see the social media posts with Coach Schall and his daughter who plays for UNC-Wilmington. Anyone have a report from the match? And do we know if they have any more spring matches?

Does anyone know anything about our new c/o 24 commit Jackie Taylor? Other than her dad being the late Sean Taylor?

Does anyone know anything about our new c/o 24 commit Jackie Taylor? Other than her dad being the late Sean Taylor? Yes, I have seen her play many times over the past few years. She is a really good one. Super athletic and quick to the block. She is used to a high tempo offense and get the ball on the floor quickly with amazing power. She has tons of upside as well. She will only get better with time and will be a force.
