Hot take: At the starts of matches, sometimes Stanford players seem like they think they're back in Newport Beach, or Brentwood, or La Jolla, or whatever rich Indianapolis suburb Baird is from, and life is just so nice and pleasant and aren't we all just friends having a good time in the sun... It's like it takes them a minute to realize that, no no no, they're in a fight to the (theorthetical) death. I think Tara Vanderveer has referred to it as the "nice girls from Stanford" syndrome, w/ respect to basketball, but I think it applies here, too. Anyway, I know they were watching SD eat Kentucky for dinner last night, so I hope they were paying attention. And I hope the country club crowd brings a little more rock n roll. Because SD will not be taking prisoners. So, completely unlike San Diego, who has players literally from La Jolla, Brentwood, San Juan Capistrano, Berkeley and San Clemente.

It probably applies to San Diego and lots of other teams too. SD took no prisoners vs Kentucky but before that, their play has also been inconsistent.
Hambly said that he talked in a huddle (vs Pepperdine, who probably has the same problem) about how hard it was to end another team's season. Psychologically, that's a very tough thing to do. You need to get past that.

After that atrocious start to the Houston match we can also look to the positives the resilience it takes to win a set like that is something Stanford has done more than a few times this season. Despite what other posters have said about Stanford facing weak or lesser competition. Houston is extremely talented and did take a set off Texas so we will take a Cardinal sweep.
The Stanford block will be the biggest San Diego has seen in awhile. I’m a Stanford fan first but I’m just so excited and sad one of these teams will not make the Final Four. Miner to Blossom is a wash in my opinion both so talented in different areas that neither offers a sizable edge. Miners serve and blocking is better where Blossoms decision making and placement seems superior. I am wondering if Stanford will look to exploit Blossoms size. Stanford I also believe has the edge when serving. The Stanford defense was also strong yesterday. Ogilvie quietly does her job and keeps a lot of balls up.
I am going Stanford in 4. Truthfully though if Stanford had to lose to any team in this tourney SD is the one I am most ok with.

I normally cheer for the PAC but it would be cool for San Diego to break up the party! Stanford better not start slow against them!

I dont believe whoever listed her as that

If Stanford loses I'm fully aboard the SD train for what they're doing this season.

I dont believe whoever listed her as that I used the official USD site, but Penn State listed her at the same height in 2021.

I’m torn. Obviously I would love to see Stanford win, but I also love watching this San Diego team and they are so good. This is one of those matches where I won’t really be upset either way. And the winner of this will be who I want to go all the way!
