She serves well and may be a service sub for Podraza. KSC will not deprive us of the roller coaster ride that is the Podraza serve. The last few years, the OSU WVB team has been on a bit of a rollercoaster. Unbeatable some nights, other nights not so much. Is that related to the players, Coach Oldenburg, and/or a team playing above their ceiling at times? Time will tell. Meanwhile, PSU and KSC can celebrate their good fortune with 2023 transfers.

The quality of transfers shows that players want to play for KSC. It shows that she wants to win, and she believes the best way to win is to recruit better players instead of train the ones she already has. There is nothing wrong with that. Recruiting is her strength instead of teaching the skills to the current players. It looks like at least she's honest with her players and let's them know that she will recruit over the current players if it gives the program a better chance to win. This is a great lifelesson to the athletes- do the job well or else you're getting replaced. This is beyond comical. Anyone paying attention last season witnessed significant player development. Thanks for playing, though. Bye, Felicia.

Well, the whole point of recruiting - at least successful recruiting, is to improve your team... at every position. But seeing that every player noticeably improved in KSC's first season, I would disagree with your view that player development is something she does not believe in nor is her strength. And, as you probably would agree, no elite athletes would go somewhere where they wouldn't improve.

If there's one thing I miss from when I was far more active here, it's certainly ripster... even if he's a Poisonous Nut.

Her nickname is Officer Big Mac, as it combines her HS (Big Walnut) with her name (Mac), it references her trademark "golden arches" serves and sets, and she also bears a striking resemblance to that particular McDonald Land character. Take good care of her.

So reading your post imply’s to me that it would be her job to recruit weaker players than she already has so that the players on the team are assured that there playing time and position are not challenged! Good way for a D1 coach to end up coaching club!

There are three ways to respond to recruitment at the D1 level. -be better, keep your spot. -embrace a new role, help everyone else be better. -move on and dominate on a team with mediocre talent, probably don’t win as much.

Good way for a D1 coach to end up coaching club! Remember Kate Price! Heck of a player who got recruited over and did not cause problems on the bench after losing her spot! It is PSU, after all, yeah, as a fan of a program who has now improved to 14-47 all time against them after 3 wins in a season before which it no more than 1 in a season before, yeah, I don't like them, but PSU is a program that tries to recruit over you, and you try to prevent that! And yes, absolutely no disrespect to Price, future Olympians!

Never complained. Still a huge fan of the program. When you look in the dictionary (online ) for "Good Teammate" there should be a photo of Kate Price. Second point: Not sure what you meant in your post by "as a fan of a program who has now improved to 14-47 all time against [Penn State] after three wins in a season," but it seems like you are saying Ohio State beat Penn State three times in 2022. For the record, although Ohio State did beat Penn State twice in 2022 (both 5-setters), they didn't beat them three times in 2022 -- or any season, for that matter. That is all.
