Does anybody have results or observations from tonight’s match? Does anybody care?

Any chance Avid 2.0 you’ll be starting a BE 2023 thread? This year is going to be competitive.

Although the girls kinda laid an egg last Saturday, there were some bright spots. Sam Naber and Adriana Studer both looked strong wearing the Libero jersey and Marquette was effective scoring when their tempo was fast. Back row attack was decent but they need to capitalize on situations where they only have to face one blocker.

Golden Eagles went to five against Iowa State. 19-25, 14-25, 25-10, 25-14, 15-13
Shaky start but found their way in the third set. Only question is whether or not Iowa State’s line-up changes screwed up their mojo or if Marquette just found their own.

The Golden Eagles finished out their Spring season with a win over Western Michigan University. 25-17, 28-26, 23-25, 25-22
Unfortunately, the game wasn't livestreamed.
Next up is a European trip but I'm not sure where they are going. I'll ask people that I know who are closer connected to the team.

Is Kushner not playing with them right now? Or did something happen, don’t see her listed on the roster.

Wisconsin just released their preseason schedule and they're playing Marquette on Wednesday, September 13 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Not sure how the mid-week match will affect the numbers. Is the proper term “preseason schedule” or “non-conference schedule”? In the pros, preseason wins and losses aren’t tallied but they are in college sports.🤷🏾♂️

Having given up watching football in my old age, I'm fully on board with preseason to mean pre-conference season. I think it's synonymous with non-conference and rolls off the tongue a little easier : )

From this article mentioned above (and here: gomarquette.com/news/2023/5/5/womens-volleyball-volleyball-to-make-european-tour-in-early-june) there's the below mention (which answers the Kushner question and also is intriguing for what their schedule might look like): "The extra training time will assist the Golden Eagles as they incorporate a pair of newcomers to the roster for a challenging fall schedule, which features six non-conference matches against top-30 RPI teams from a season ago, including three teams that competed in NCAA regional finals. Illinois State graduate transfer Sarah Kushner will arrive on campus on May 22 to begin training thanks to NCAA rules changes that allow incoming student-athletes to participate in foreign trips before completing summer coursework."

That's a solid non-conference schedule. I'm excited to see what Marquette accomplishes in 2023!
