Congrats to the Texas Transfer All-Stars for winning the National Championship. Flame me all you want, but that wasn't a fair fight. Not when the winning team often had transfers playing in 4 of the 6 positions on the court. I've got no dog in this fight, so it's not a matter of who had the unfair advantage. But it flat out is unfair and the AVCA needs to fix it. Some international pro leagues have rules that limit how many players can be out of country or from some given country. You could do something similar here. For example, you can have as many transfers as you want on your team, but you can't have more than 2 on court at any time. That would be a reasonable limit. In the meantime, a serious congrats to Louisville for being the best mostly home grown team in the country. The portal works both ways.

B12 is very weak for volleyball…Jarrett spoke about this game in one of the pressers as did Logan. Well all I know is Texas was pushed more by Kansas (went 5). Iowa St( loss) and Baylor (2 times) than the following: Ohio St (3 times), Stanford, Minnesota ( closest to matching the closeness of one of the Baylor games), Georgia, Marquette, San Diego, and Louisville. None of these really good non-B12 teams took Texas to 5 and most weren’t even close to taking Texas to 5. 🤷♂️

Things I did read: Must be the bad culture at Texas why so many players left, , please portal player come play on my team I will love you forever, portal player didn’t come to my team and the portal sucks we need to do something about the portal. I’m just not sure how it’s unfair. Did every other team in the country not have a chance to grab Fleck, Skinner, etc.? Did every team in the country not have a chance to contact Skylar, Iosia, Peterson, Gabriel, Cabello, and Williams? And I love how you even know Louisville isn’t completely homegrown. They don’t make the Final Four without Lazaro most likely. If you wanna give out an award for homegrown, give it to Stanford, runner up Ohio State.

PLZ get a life don’t act like Louisville didn’t have access to the same players that were in the portal. If any one of these transfers wanted to go to a specific school, given their success, any coach who would say no is a bad one. Don’t hate because Texas is the place they wanted to be 🤘🏻🤷🏽♂️
B12 is very weak for volleyball…Jarrett spoke about this game in one of the pressers as did Logan. 🤷♂️
I’m saying top to bottom the B12 is a weak volleyball conference, there’s no denying that. Any team can have one good night in conference and Iowa State proved that when they took Texas down. Night in, night out there are stronger conferences and you really can’t argue that. The B1G, the emerging ACC, the Pac-12, and SEC have more all around strength - Texas shouldn’t be the only comparison you look at. TCU probably had the best non-Texas tournament win over Washington but then got eliminated by Wisconsin. Kansas beat a “meh” 7-seed Miami, then bounced by NebraskaBaylor beat SFA, got pushed to the limit by Rice (who’s been consistently good over the years), and then bounced by LouisvilleIowa State beat FGCU, then sweapt by FloridaThese are my points - B1G, ACC, SEC, Pac-12 are all battle tested over the course of the season, Texas has historically ran through the B12 with Baylor and Kansas being the only recent emergeing teams to really give them a fight. (I’m not counting IA St, i’m saying historically)

Why is getting a bunch of transfers to fill needs anymore unfair than getting top 5 recruiting classes every year? The sport is not fair as 97% of teams have zero chance of bringing in the number one recruit each year. They always end up on the same 5 teams. Obviously, kids transfer for many reasons but they are all transferring for some reason. I know a lot of D1 athletics who got stuck at schools that were not a good fit with borderline abusive coaches and they had no option (used to be a huge pain) to get out. Stuck in the same program for 4 miserable years and now they hate their respective sport. Congratulations to Texas. They put in the work it took to win the championship.

Skinner can possibly walk out of that arena having won 2 championships with 2 different teams. Will be pretty cool for her but I’d rather it didn’t happen Caffey is included in this. Not sure about Akana? Caffey is done with college volleyball. She played in two championships with two different teams but did not win both like Skinner.
