Aren't they hosting one of the AU matches for the spring? I imagine that'll be one with a few matches with either Baylor, Texas State or even A&M.

Still wished they played arizona𤧠I got the feeling Elliott and Rubio had a professional respect for one another that went beyond the confines of the court. That seems to be one of the chief guiding principles for Elliottās scheduling. He tends to schedule opponents who are coached by folks he wants to do business with, so to speak. I expect at some point weāll see Notre Dame and LSU. Iād also love to get Kent State on the schedule. I know a lot depends on RPI. Elliott likes his bonuses. Iād love to see San Diego again, too. My guess is Arizona wonāt be on the schedule for a while with Rubio retiring. But who knows?

Well, I don't have any thoughts on beach. I don't know if I will have the head coach is hired, but I for sure don't during this interim period. I don't find beach volleyball nearly as compelling to watch, really. I know there's a lot to it, but it just doesn't interest me that much. Maybe I'll change my mind if Texas puts together a top team.

Great earlier writeup slxpress on the top-4 teams. I think Wisconsin and Stanford will be problems for sure. I also think PennSt finishes above Neb in the B1G. Iām the same w/ slx on waiting to see with Texas, but like some have mentioned, I feel good about MB. I worry more about how much impact Fleck had on keeping everyone motivated in the game and that coach on the floor. I think the competition in the practice gym will keep this team playing at a high level but what will they do when itās those tough crucial points that need to be gotten?
I must be by myself in that Iām still not that high on Nebraska. Before the tournament (I wasnāt posting here much) I was saying in YT vids and Longhorn msg boards that Neb didnāt have the attack to go far. I still think thatās an issue and Iām not near as high on Murray as most seem here. Sheās a long way away from playing 6-rotations and I donāt see an elite attacker/leaper. Sheās got long arms and great arm speed but her explosiveness is not what I expected watching the UA game as well it being confirmed when Iāve seen some USA ā21-ā22 matches with her. Sheās not someone who can double jump or rise out of position to terminate.
Now I love Choboy(sp?) as well as Jurevicious and specifically with Choboy, if she works on her serve-receive, she will be an AA before she leaves. Even before the UA game, I liked the future of Swindle over Reilly. I think Reilly will be a good setter (all B1G even) but I donāt think she has the ceiling of Swindle. Reilly is a much more finished product than Swindle and I just see more projection with Swindle. Swindleās arm length will be much better blocking that Reilly and right now now for me Reilly is not a good blocker.
Again overall with Neb, I just donāt see those elite terminators for them this season. They will again have to win with scrappy play and great defense/blocking especially by the middles.

I donāt have an issue with anything you wrote. That said, in the regular season Nebraska had severe issues terminating the ball two years ago when they made it to the championship match. I think one of their their biggest issues with terminating effectively is setting. I have no idea how it will all play out. Itās not like they got eliminated in the Sweet Sixteen in a blowout. Just a couple of things go their way in that 4th set and theyāre moving on. But yeah, the regular season was a relative struggle for sure. The thing that always gets me looking at the Nebraska roster is how much they cleaned house in recruiting. 2024 as well. If it doesnāt show up on the court it doesnāt show up, but they truly are recruiting at a different level than everyone else. For high school players, in any case.

Our 2023 NPOY Asjia O'Neal will be setting people straight. She became so much more vocal in leadership during the 22 season, I was really impressed by the team pep talk she gave after losing the first set to San Diego. And if Asjia's not on the floor, Baby Spice. She learned from the best.

My mom fussed at me for taking notes during a donor-only event so Iāll only post a couple non-secrets.
Turns out Akana DID have a vision board of herself winning a national championship at Texas after going to one of our camps. We didnāt have a scholarship for her at the time.
Not to re-ignite height inflate-gate but Jerritt referred to Swindle as 6ā2ā, which seems like a good estimate based on how tall she looks next to others.
Last Jerritt said those wanting to get involved in NIL should do the Texas One Fund. Obviously Jerritt isnāt involved but knows the people and approves of how theyāre conducting it.

The Texas One Fund is now the primary NIL collective for UT. You are correct that Jerritt isn't directly involved, but the NCAA did change its rules to allow coaches and other personnel to promote collectives.

Yeah, he talked about the potential Spring schedule and then asked that it not be put on message boards. Part of the reason that what's in flux is that teams don't know who's going, who's staying at the school and can't be firm on scheduling.
When asked about what game would they raise the 2022 NC banner, he said that was a point of discussion. With the time taken for raising the banner, shooting off confetti, sweeping up the floor, and passing out their championship rings, they're limited as how much time they can do "extra" things before a sanctioned NCAA game. i.e. a Fall non-conference team.
