who's the setter in the upper right pic? Interesting to see Byrd playing at MB in the practice gym. We are pretty loaded at the pins (and MB, too) so I’m curious to know where she nets out. I wonder if she’ll redshirt her freshman year. I’m hoping not though because she looks like an impact player. I’m also still waiting for Kahahawai to get her starting spot. 😭

When I was talking to my wife a few weeks ago I said, "Yeah, ironically Jerritt likes practicing more in Gregory than the indoor facility within the stadium"
And then she looked at me like I was insane. She worked at UT like 15 years ago for their facilities engineering department and still is convinced she knows ALL about UT. Totally disbelieved me that they built additional practice facilities. She believes they only practice in Gregory.
I finally found time to find the video where they introduce the facility, which is buried in the windowless bowels of the football stadium:
By the way, it's not officially located in Darryl-K-Royal Memorial stadium, it's located in "Belmont Hall".
If you don't know UT history, at the beginning, the state legislature created PUF, Permanent University Fund, which is based on some large amount of oil fields in West Texas. Texas got 2/3 of the funding and A&M got 1/3 of the fund (really hacks Texas Tech).
The stipulation is that the fund is only meant for building of "educational buildings". So the football stadium happens to fit exactly on top of "Belmont Hall".
I’m glad I’ve finally heard someone explain this. Confused the crap out of me freshman year when I had a meeting in “Belmont Hall” and the map directed me to the stadium. I must have walked around in circles for like 10 minutes before I figured it out.

Bunton wasn’t a spring enrollee right? Byrd might just be there during 6v6 stuff so Molly can stay at right side?

As I've been saying. They found a way to make it work. Can't wait. Don't have the strongest opinion about volleyball, especially with BYU, UH, and UCF coming in. Those are three more than solid programs right now. But I do feel like the SEC has a lot of upside in the sport. I'll miss men's basketball.
But overall I'm extremely excited by the move. It's very important to be in a conference where everyone is in the big leagues in terms of revenue. It makes for a much more consistent advocacy from the conference commissioner.
I do believe Texas will continue to perform at the top of the conference when considering all sports as an aggregate, but obvious work has to be done in football. I'd argue men's basketball and soccer, as well. But the rest of the sports are on really good footing.
I'll also miss LHN a bit. It wasn't what I thought it would be, but it's been nice having a channel dedicated to UT sports, even when it's been difficult to get access to it.

as i understand it, soccer, football, cross country and volleyball will be the first up to transition to the SEC in the fall of 2024. one more season in the big12 and then it's off to a different adventure
