would O'Neal miss the beginning of the season if they give her a spot on OQ roster, which she should be offered one I don’t see that as a realistic option. O’Neal is going to want to be there with her teammates when workouts start. She’s arguably THE leader for this team. Not the only one, but the primary one. That’s still a nice sentiment. |

I could see it. And I know her teammates would support her. The depth we have would be enough to cover her absence and at her skill level, it wouldn’t be tough to slot back in. Plus it would give someone a chance to step up the way Molly did when Brionne was injured. I’m not disagreeing, just saying it’s an option. For what it’s worth, my Texas repeat champs AND NPOY campaign makes me prefer she play every set, gets 4 kps and blocks like a beast. |

You and I see it differently, and that’s okay. In the end it’s up to O’Neal to decide, if she indeed gets the option. I’ll say this. Competing in the Olympics > NCAAs. I could see Elliott not giving her an option of coming back if she has a choice. It’s a big deal. But pretending like there’s no opportunity cost is foolish as well. There’s no such thing as quality time. There’s only quantity time that creates opportunities for quality time. If you’re not there for preseason training and the first few matches (which won’t exactly be a cakewalk and could determine whether Texas hosts a regional or not) if affects the chemistry of the team. Doesn’t mean they can’t win at the highest level, but it does create a risk. My prediction is that O’Neal is there for preseason and the first few matches. Again, we’ll see what happens. Regardless, no judgement. Like I already stated, Olympics>NCAAs. |

That was for a low level tournament, im pretty sure it would be different for a tournament with the A/B senior team |
