because Halter and Barnes are exponentially better passers. Texas will always be a side out team before a defensive team. we want to run Asjia as much as possible. Team All Asjia All the Time Yeah I need whomever is going to further my Asjia O’Neal for NPOY agenda to be starters.

Aardvark, this is getting asinine. 1) Texas players aren't really more aggressive than other players, from what I've observed in over 10 years being a fan. Occasionally Texas will have a Jhenna who likes doing staredowns across the net, but so will other teams--but because they don't play at Texas (or Nebraska or Stanford) no one really cares or pays attention. Texas' fanbase also isn't super aggressive--we're quite restrained compared to A&M and OU, our chief rivals, which is why the aggies used to make fun of Texas "tea sips." The greg is a tough place to play because the fans are loud, present, and packed on top of the court like sardines in an echoey concrete gym, not because the fan base is particularly mean or villainous. What Texas does have more of is black players. Think on that for a second. 2) You're the one who brought up, of all things, child molestation in response to a playful conversation about Asjia talking about Texas' villain era. Notably, Asjia said Texas was entering its "villain era" by going into opposing gyms and beating the teams there. Wow, what a monster--how dare she want to win games. Asjia was leaning in to the current dialogue around Texas' super team being unfair--a team which was built legally under the rules that apply to everyone, rules which Penn State is taking advantage of this year. Which you then analogized to pedophilia. Bringing up such a viscerally evil and triggering topic in response to a black female athlete's comment that she wasn't going to be apologetic about winning at her sport is inappropriate and, guess what, smacks of racism and sexism. Your ire assumes my comments refer to what Asjia said. They do not. They refer to what ttth15 said (go back and read my posts to verify this). It's entirely possible that at some point in the past ttth15 has stated their gender and/or race. I'm not aware of it. I make no assumptions about that. So... when you attribute my comments to sexism and racism you are way off base. Which you are doubly, since I'm talking about the behavior of UT *fans*, not UT players (again, go back and verify this by reading my posts). You (and others) apparently got so triggered by my analogy that you stopped reading for comprehension and ran off to a battle against me I wasn't fighting. I suppose you can legitimately ding me for escalating the conversion that way. To be honest, I was doing other things and didn't give deep thought to what I initially wrote, as hinted by its brevity. This ultimately came back to bite me, because I had to explain at length that my commentary was being misconstrued. I had to keep telling people to go back and read it again to check. I've given enough such explanations that I don't feel this post of yours is reasonable. You claim I'm being a sexist racist ass, a very personal attack. And this claim is based, yet again, on a faulty reading of what I said. You claim Texas fans are "quite restrained". This thread has me not feeling that at all. Think on that for a second.

Oops. That should be "conversation" not conversion.

By the way, widdle, I agree that some Texas fans show restraint when a fuss comes up. Eyeroll made a nice follow-on to my Stanford humor attempt to try to find an off-ramp for the hostilities. EoTexas managed to keep their aggravation in check and say their piece without resorting to insults. So... it's there. But it's hard to remember the calm ones when others are flaming you. The people clamoring for attention tend to carry the day.

I just think about how unfair it is to have a national team player with the kind of experience O’Neal has received this summer coming back and playing a season for Texas. Think about it this way. How many of the players on that VNL team would be absolutely ridiculous if they were allowed to come play in college another year this fall? I mean, some of them wouldn’t be all that ridiculous, but most of them would be absurd. O’Neal isn’t the only ncaa player playing VNL. Weske of USC and now Rice is with Germany

I was starting a post typing up my reasoning, but let’s leave it at 1) I reacted badly to being a sports fan being analogised to child molestation and 2) there’s a lot of discourse aimed at Texas’ black players specifically that I won’t get into. But the specific post you were referring to was about fans.
