Two big horses are out of the barn, but in Oregon they're trying to lock the gate anyway.
The Oregonian is reporting that a bill that would require Oregon’s public universities to receive approval from the state Legislature if they wish to change conference affiliation for college sports is making its way through committee.
Too early to know if it will pass.

Too early to know if it will pass. I just read a lengthy article on this, and nowhere does it say this bill has extensive support. Any legislator can start up a bill. That doesn't mean it has any real chance of passing.

Too early to know if it will pass. Wonder what took them so long? It's been typical in any state with more than one P5 type university for the politicians to appear that they are involved to protect the "loser(s). In this case, the more accurate name for the bill is "Oregon can't change conferences without taking Oregon State with them". Likely the only way it passes is if the majority of Oregon's legistature is OSU alums. Somehow I suspect Phil Knight has more pull than all of OSU together.
