I guess this could have been discussed in the Rosen thread, but since other schools got coaching threads, why not.
As always, the general questions are the same. Will it be a "big name" with previous P5 head coaching experience or some other "major" coaching experience like USNT? Or will it be someone with success as a head coach, but Michigan will be their first P5 gig (like Johnson at Michigan State). Or will it be an experienced P5 assistant/associate who has never been a head coach before, or at least never a P5 head coach.
I'd think if they offer a reasonable salary - not even crazy high, but "good" - UM is a very attractive position.

I said this in the Rosen thread (and a lot of other info about Michigan's athletic department) but if the AD follows what he did with Women's Soccer, he'll hire an AC from a highly regarded P5. She did have a couple of years as the UNLV HC, but that was 7 years prior to her being hired at Michigan.
The only coach the AD would have worked with at Connecticut would have been Kris Grunwald and I wouldn't think that would be the move.

Michigan has the budget and the brand to lure away a big time coach and upgrade their arena, but they won't. They'll hire a regional mid-major coach or grab a hot assistant.
Kelli Miller Phillips Jaylen Reyes Brittany Dildine Anders Nelson Dan Meske? (He's an Ohio State grad so that would be extra spicy)

Two others I could see as a fit here (depending on priorities) are Ryan Baker of Colgate, though that may be seen as too big of a jump, and Don Metil of Towson has earned an upgrade as well.

What about Ryan Theis? I could see him making the jump to the big ten.

My wish list as a diehard Michigan fan:
Kelli Miller Phillips Brittany Dildine Erin Virtue
Would have to think KMP is the most attainable, given UM's current commitment to VB (primarily salary & facilities). Even at the previous poor salary it'd still be 2x what she makes at BSU. Not that money is everything, but it definitely talks.
I wish this coaching search would get the same publicity that a major program would get. If the likes of Dildine and Reyes and Nelson are coming to AA to interview it means they at least believe somewhat in what Michigan Volleyball could be. It's very easy to get negative on where the program stands in the B1G and within the ranks of UM itself.

My short list is similar: Erin Virtue Kelli Miller Phillips Rob Beam I don't think we are going to get a big name assistant unless the program really ramps up the salary and facility offerings.
