Courtley is not listed on the Senior Celebration instagram post that came out today. Take that how you will but maybe she’ll be back next season? I also saw Avery was on the post, yet I thought she was coming back another year from injury? I love Avery and I think she's an incredible personality in the locker room. But this is the second year in a row she's had a season ending injury. She hasn't played meaningful volleyball since 2022 and there's a TON of competition coming up for DS/L reps next year. Clayton, Bolton and Foley have already proven they can play well. Durst is probably already better than all 3. She needs to hit Indeed and start getting that 401k contribution going.

I'd love if she came back, but I do realize how difficult it may be to hype yourself up to repair a blown up knee.

On an earlier post they said she was one of the seniors who had her last practice at Jenison, but now she is not on today’s post. I wonder what it all means.

MSU takes down Northwestern 3-1 to improve to 6-13 on the year.
Seniors got to play and Kaya even got into the scorebook with a kill. Gotta hand it to the staff and the team. Of the 7 winnable games on the back end of the schedule, they managed to go 5-2 and salvage a season on the brink of disaster.
Say what you will about this season (we’re all assuming a loss against Wisconsin), but I think 6-14 with a gritty victory against USC shows this team still has some chops even with a season ending injury and a player who clearly isn’t right after a preseason concussion. The goal for this program is not to be a middle lower pack of the big ten type team, but the fact we’re back to historically where we average given these struggles shows me this staff really can launch us back into national relevance. The recruiting is picking up and I think the roster has a core where we can actually move into a season where we don’t need 6 portal pickups. I expect a corner turning season next year.
