I’d also add that horrible bass sound repeating over and over, the 2nd set recorded interview which went way too long, and the shoe commercial insistently demanding that we wake up while simultaneously putting us to sleep. Talk about mixed messages. But he who owns the gold makes the rules. I’d put up with another terrible interview and more shoe commercials if that’s what it takes to be able to watch an all star grouping of that caliber. That was fun almost inspite of itself. |

I never felt like Bunton got a chance to do anything. It’s not that she looked bad. She was barely on the court. |

Underperformers imo: Chloe Chicoine (for being the #1 recruit, didn’t okay like the #1 player) Nya Bunton Kenna Phelan When Chicoine decommitted from PSU after RR retired I was disappointed, it would have been nice for PSU to get a number top five recruit for the first time in a hot minute. To be honest, if Rose was the whole reason she wanted to go to PSU I’m not sure why she even committed in the first place considering it was pretty clear he would retire before or while she was playing. But after watching her and thinking about her as a player more I don’t know where she would fit in because I don’t know if she will survive as a pin in the B1G. After having Gabby Blossom as a setter for three seasons, I don’t want to have another player who is a huge blocking liability for at least like five years, I just can’t watch someone get hit over time and time again like I had to with Blossom. She could end up being a Member-Meneh type player, but how many players end up being an impact hitter THAT undersized. I even think LMM was shorter, and honestly the only other impactful outside that short in recent years I can remember is Autumn Bailey. I know there were talks of her becoming a libero in college, but I seriously doubt she would ever win that role at Penn State considering they have Billinovic for at least another year, and Grimes for 3 more, and have the top 2023 libero, Ava Falduto, committed. I wish her the best, but I do think it was for the best she is going to Purdue. Could actually be their libero one day, and maybe she will prove me wrong and make me wish she was on my team. |

Well cool, lets we what these girls do on their respective teams now. This matchup is always weird predicted of the future, I’ve never found all star games good prognosticators. It’s a fun showcase, but for me people are putting too much weight on it. It was very entertaining, though. No complaints there, and sometimes I have a lot. It can look pretty rough to throw players together and in a short span of time have them look like a functional team. I feel like both squads did pretty well at that. |
