Annnnd Robey is now unavailable. I was just trolling her instagram this afternoon before she announced her destination. The big name middles left in the portal are Jess Robinson of Michigan and Onye Ofoegbu of UC Irvine. Any other thoughts? Whoever gets Ofoegbu is going to be in luck if they can just set her high enough. She’s been carrying UCI for the past few seasons so she’s criminally under the radar to anyone who doesn’t follow the Big West, which are most people lol. |

did Fischer intentionally leave a couple scholarships open I assume? I looked at their roster in the OP, my count / assumption is 8 or 10 of them are probably on scholarship, leaving 2-4 still open...
I dont know a ton ab pitt but im guessing scholarship players are :
gomez
akeo
fairbanks
dalton
klika (?)
Jepsen
stafford
bayless
Babcock
thats 9... id like to think flood is on scholarship too cause she's still there as a senior and unlikely imo to lock down serious playing time but choosing to stay regardless, so maybe the count is 10 and they have 2 open ? its very hard to keep non scholarship bench players who are 'veterans' w the portal now.

maybe klika was only on a two year deal and she isnt one of the scholarships for 2023? but id also be surprised if none of the DSs are on scholarship so I feel like she has to be still...

Your guesses on scholarships seem good, but I have no real way of knowing. I've seen speculation that Akeo is not on a scholarship, with a possibility of a tuition break from her sister being Director of Operations.
I would imagine that there is at least one scholarship being held for a middle, if that isn't already arranged (but not announced). Dalton and OOfoegbu just started following each other on Instagram....

With Ofoegbu and Jess Robinson announcing other destinations, I believe that every middle on the ACVA All-American list is playing elsewhere. Laila Smith from Alabama seems to be all about Syracuse on her Instagram. Emma Monks, Mykala Myers from TCU, and Satasha Kostelecky from Rice, have all been mentioned in the Tea thread. May Pertofsky might be the biggest name middle still available.

Any chance on Babcock or Dalton switching to middle if Pitt indeed gets no transfer at that spot? Still only having 2 middles is running it thin
