Jamie Morrison thinks he's one of the best trainers in the US. lol So do you disagree? Do tell. Isn't it obvious I disagree? lol There's a reason he has bounced around so much, and Jamie has practiced his schpiel and learned to game the system, but a careful look at his record says otherwise.

Do we know her stance on Cliff Keen arena? What could it be? It’s a middle school facility…the worst in the conference. Maybe if they made more money on football revenue they could afford to put money toward better volleyball facilities…

Do we know her stance on Cliff Keen arena? What could it be? It’s a middle school facility…the worst in the conference. Maybe if they made more money on football revenue they could afford to put money toward better volleyball facilities… Before I dive into this discussion, some info: Cliff Keen Arena Quick Facts Completed: 1956 Renovated: 1989 Cost (Original): $828,000 Cost (Renovation): $750,000 Capacity: 1,800 Name Change: Known as Matt Mann Pool from 1956-88, renovated and renamed Varsity Arena in 1989 and rededicated as Cliff Keen Arena on Nov. 15, 1990 First Use: November 2, 1956 First Match: January 2, 1957 -- Men's Swimming and Diving (Michigan 53, North Carolina State 32) First Match in Cliff Keen: Sept. 8, 1989 -- Volleyball (Michigan 3, Central Michigan 1) Used By: Swimming and Diving (1956-88), Volleyball (1989-present), Wrestling (1989-present), Women's Gymnastics (1989-present), Men's Gymnastics (1989-present) I'd say, "Good bang for the buck." Others might say, "You get what you pay for."

Others might say, "You get what you pay for." Inflation calculator tells me that in today's dollars the original building was $8,908,762 and the renovation was $1,770,090. The place stinks. I've been fortunate enough to go to a match in every facility in the B1G. Although I would still put it above Rutgers' College Ave Gymnasium, the Scarlet Knights played 12/13 home games in the Jersey Mike's Center last year. With MSU playing every match in Breslin instead of Jenison, Michigan has fallen behind everyone else.

I get the impression, but I could be wrong, that BLUE Athletics has always been a little tight with their money. Is it a bit of snobbishness believing that coaches will take a little less money because Michigan is such an elite institution? Or, student athletes will play in a less than desirable facility because they were granted a scholarship at the best school in the B1G?

With MSU playing every match in Breslin instead of Jenison, Michigan has fallen behind everyone else. Every single one? Wow. How do you rank them? I live close enough to knock out the Michigans, Indianas and OSU with an easy drive. Made a weekend trip with my oldest to do Huff Hall and Welsh-Ryan when U-M played there back a few years ago and made a special trip to State College this year with her and my niece (highlight of the UM season by FAR!). The rest I was able to knock out while on the road for business. Sometimes work travels aren't all bad! Anyway: based purely off viewing experience as a visiting/impartial fan 1) Nebraska (Devaney was great in every aspect) 2) Wisconsin (Basically splitting hairs but this was pre-natty so not quite as many engaged fans) 3) Minnesota (Personally loved the old hockey barn and the fans were great) 4) Ohio State (Covelli Center in JFO-era, specifically. The place absolutely rocks) 5) Purdue (awesome student section. maybe the best. newer video boards were great too) 6) Penn State (Cool venue, travel to it wasn't easy but it was a fun experience. Probably higher in peak RR years) 7) Indiana (nothing too crazy but the new venue made for a great experience as a visitor) 8) Illinois (tough location, no AC and I was there in September - not fun. but fans were still great) 9) Iowa (new venue is nice but little atmosphere... super close to the hotel though so that's a bonus) 10) Northwestern (same as Iowa only bigger venue and no hotel bonus) 11) Maryland (nice high school gym) The bottom three (MSU, UM, Rutgers) are all in a similar boat. If they play in their basketball venues the order is 12) Michigan (being able to drop the curtain gives the bigger venue a more intimate feel. Honestly may be No. 9 if this was the primary venue) 13) Michigan State (felt empty but the amenities are far superior to Jenison) 14) Rutgers (might as well be playing in an empty Red Rocks amphitheater. Way better to play in than the other, but felt like the COVID season it was so empty) If they play in their VB venues the order is 12) Michigan State (odd layout, concession stand line a mile long, subpar crowd even for a rivalry game) 13) Rutgers (awful. but at least they have teraflex?) 14) Michigan (the list could be forever long but let's just go with no ac, uncomfortable seats, one bathroom) *I guess I amend my earlier statement that U-M is only better than Rutgers. They are not, in fact, better at all. Now - I've only seen the literal playing area of these venues so stuff like locker rooms and weight facilities aren't a factor in my ranking. I'm basing my opinion off things like atmosphere, ease of parking, seat comfortability, concession stands and bathroom lines
