For NKYVC, Hunt started slow on day one and then was a big factor the rest of the way. The stream said she hit .810 in the semifinals (18/21 with 1 error was what I was told). Skidmore and Barrett were also big offensively, but their serving and defense were very noticeable factors. Looking at AES, their road wasn't easy beating MadFrog and Dallas Skyline on day 1, A5 on day 2, and then Premier Nebraska to start day 3. A5 and Premier have big middle play and NKYVC's serving took them out of system a lot. Both A5 and Premier have already qualified for 17 Open for the USA GJNC. They earned their bids at NLQ in January along with Dynasty. If memory serves me this team was riddled with injuries last year. Also, keep in mind pretty sure Julia and possibly 1 or 2 more play basketball for HS as well. That shifting of gears from BB early in a tournament can attribute to a slow start in a tournament for sure. One of Hunt's many gifts is adjusting quickly. Heard a few stories of her working with brand new setters at a few clinics over the summer (before she commited) and immediately connected with setters which is very rare.

According to PrepVolleyball.com's picks, NKYVC had three selected to the 17U all-tournament team: Hunt (MB), Skidmore (OH/OPP), and Tabeling (DS/L). OTVA Aaron had two chosen in their great setter Parks and OH Bedinghaus. Also selected: setter = Hickey (Premier Nebraska); middle = Ames (Drive Nation); OH/OPP = Brauckmiller (AZ Sky) and Starck (Colorado Jrs); DS/L = Hasbrook (Rockwood Thunder)

Just taking a look at the matches and results from the weekend. Dynasty 17's loses to Miami Hype? I didn't even know that WAS a club, let alone a club that can compete with a stacked roster like Dynasty. What the heck happened there? That’s the problem with only reading the publications that fall over each other promoting the same clubs and players over and over. Miami Hype has been a solid team in this age group since they were 14-15. A well coached team and stars the late Sean Taylor’s daughter Jackie Taylor. Sean was a all pro safety for the redskins and was a star at the university of Miami. He was murdered in a botched home burglary when Jackie was a baby. I will be the first to not always buy the hype of the select few players in each class that get over-hyped every year. I've been preaching that for a while now. I wasn't trying to shade Miami Hype (I didn't follow club ball last year and rarely watch below 16u unless it's the finals of bigger tournaments), however, hype notwithstanding, that Dynasty team is incredibly stacked. Other than perhaps MB, they have elite D1 recruits at every position. And by elite I mean they could punch their ticket to almost any program in the country. It's pretty rare that a 17's team has that much talent. I can think of only two programs recently - the 2020 TAV class (Wenass didn't even play with them but they had the smiths, Williams, ndaiye, Okammor, Yap, Lang) and the AZ Storm 2016 class (Lanier, Stivrins, Oleksak, Johnson, Spann).

I agree with you, that Dynasty team is beyond loaded.
