Any details if there were any good take away from match? like did Carter get her mojo back, did they pass serve well (or better than last season), do they have a consistent Opp. Normally KSU would get throttled against any good team even in the spring matches. So trying to get excited about the new staff.

What is the info on Liz Gregoski? Can she play OH well enough to start in case Carter doesn't find her mojo or this is just a transfer to build some depth and play some backrow?
Hello K State fans, Wisconsin Badgers fan here with the scoop on Liz G. from my perspective.
Liz's position is outside hitter. She was also used as a serving sub last season and played in a lot of big matches [Badgers flamed out in the Elite 8, poor serve receive / passing in the critical 5th set against Pitt].
She did have several knee injuries that held her back. I should also note that, during her Badger career, she has played behind Molly Haggerty [All American], Grace Loberg, Julia Orzal [2021 Big Ten Freshman of The Year] and Sarah Franklin [First Team All Big Ten and Third Team All American 2022]. In 2022, the Badgers brought in only one recruit, Ella Wrobel, 6'4" outside hitter and consensus Top Ten recruit. Any way you slice it, Liz is a bit undersized for a Badger outside hitter and cracking the line-up was always a challenge at Wisconsin.
That said, Liz has some hops and is a skilled player. She started every match for Badgers this spring because Sarah Franklin was out and Temi Thomas-Ailara isn't arriving until June. Here's a wrap-up of her last match for the Badgers, a 3-1 win over Purdue:
As a team, UW hit .270 (50 kills -10 errors -126 attempts) while holding Purdue to just .085 (41-13-141). Four Badgers recorded nine-or-more kills behind Julia Orzol with 16 putaways, while Anna Smrek and Carter Booth both put away nine kills. Booth led all hitters at .444 (9-1-18). Outside hitter Liz Gregorski, who is transferring to Kansas State in the fall, had 13 kills and hit .313 in her final appearance with the Badgers.
Here's what Coach Kelly Sheffield had to say about Liz after the Purdue match:
Kelly Sheffield @kellypsheffield
Last match for #4 in a badgervb jersey might have been her best. Heck of a ride for @lizgregorski [4 Big Ten Championships and an NCAA National Championship].
You're going to love Liz, no matter what. Badger fans will be pulling for Liz and K State. !

Liz was putting some cross court shots down when Hentz was left back vs AU and her cut shot was surprisingly good in the spring, making multiple UW posters wish we could have seen more of her. Iāll be keeping an eye on K State to see if she gets some decent court time

Carter was pretty much unstoppable against the gophers yesterday, even when it was obvious that she would be set. She was tooling the block constantly and got blocked rarely. Very impressed

This is great info for KSU fans as we didn't know much about her. For some context. Gregorski first shattered a finger in Junior year in HS, then when she recovered, tore her ACL and injured her meniscus and calf landing on another player's foot in club. She only played 5 games her senior season in HS. Then she managed to go down with more knee trouble in her first year in Madison, followed by at least two clean-up operations, and then consequent setbacks of one sort or another. There may have been a second ACL tear in there somewhere. She spent most of her time with one appendage or another wrapped. has redshirted. She just never really got going in Madison with all that and with the competition ahead of her. So we haven't seen her much. She really impressed me this spring though. She looks like she is finally getting fully healthy and we are seeing the springiness and confidence that Sheffield talked about before she came. She hit pretty well against a professional block in AU. Was hitting a number of angles this spring that we haven't seen from her before in the few looks we had. She was passing OK - better than I remember. Sheffield has said she has a very effective serve that receivers can't read (The no-lookie cookie he called it, I think?). She got most of her games as a serving specialist last year. She seems like a favorite in the team, and the fans love her because of all the hardship she's been through, her optimistic gregarious nature and the fact that she is a homegrown sconnie.

How is Shaylee Myers looking this spring?
I feel like she has a lot of unrealized potential yet.

Can tool hands all day & take over a game if you let her, it's disappointing how she barely got talked about compared to others in her class. Can't believe she wasn't a highly rated recruit.

I agree - I really like watching her play, I hope she has a breakout season.
