i know it's only day 2 and lots of noncon to happen still, but it does feel like the big west is finally on par after losing a season. if anything, big west looks to be a good defensively minded conference. i still think all teams can improve in point scoring.
in the Hawaii match, they targeted Alex whenever they had to just free ball/get it over, and Tyler has the beach playing fast.
excited to see this season unfold. no one is safe!

UC San Diego lose in 5 at Butler to end 2-1 on the weekend. They had the 10-4 lead in the fifth set only to lose 13-15.

Yeah, I watched some of the match, and it felt like UCSD had nice offensive options, but they lacked the scrappy defense that Butler had. Unfortunate end to the match, but I suppose a 2-1 record on opening weekend isn't bad |
