this packed crowd shreveport could never Arlington won't either Wanted to circle back to this. Arlington is basically Dallas. With tons on good junior clubs. I'd think they could get good crowds. But no idea of history. Any reason you don't think they will show out? Just curious.

Is it not obvious? She did the same thing to try and cancel Mitrovic the past two years...excessively setting Howe when many people thought Mitrovic was better or doing just as well. She successfully had a lot of people thinking Howe was better than Mitrovic. Thank goodness Mitrovic stuck with it and is now showing what she can do and Winzer best recognize it too. Or, when KVR is back will she start Howe? And, yes....I know many junior players who played with King and it was the same thing. She sets her bff's. Even today, she started trying to set Howe and forcing it to her. I am just sick of it. Set a balanced attack. Good on Layne to get so many points today, but there are other players who are capable as well and not receiving the sets. It is easy to get up for the match and into the game when you are getting all the sets and "having a game". King, it didn't work out with Howe...it is working with Layne for now and that is good for the team in some respects. It is not good when the other players are not getting the sets they deserve. And to be clear, I am not saying the other players feel they are neglected...that is my personal opinion. lmao.
"Is it not obvious?" "My personal opinion" "I know many"
I'm glad you're our representative Canadian on this board. I like to tune in occasionally to see what you have to say. It's great content. Much better than our American compatriots lazily repeating "lets compete" or whatever.
hey thats just the college homers who show up only in summer and root for their alumni over the actual success of the nt

It has to be a choice. China could have a good men's team if they prioritized it. yeah. the team has the physicality but their technique just sucks The opposite of Japan in many ways. Is there any type of men's pro league in China. I know the women's side is a bit uneven, but some teams are willing to spend mooney. I know Tianjin offered a coach $300K US just to come in and train, not even head coach.

I’m holding out hope that USAV pushes it A LOT the couple weeks before but either way, Dallas could easily draw double the amount of people Shreveport did with zero marketing.

First of all, I am not representing Canada, but thank you for bestowing that on me. Second, if you have watched more than occasionally, you could see for yourself how Mitrovic was almost canceled by King in favour of Howe. The "my personal opinion" is taken out of context. I was referring to the fact, that I am not speaking for the players feeling slighted by this. The, "I know players" is in reference to you asking me if I know this or if it is speculation that King doing this for years. Again, that is my opinion. Anyone is free to argue otherwise. My edited post showed a little more concrete "facts": VanBuskirk 18 sets Howe 17, Gray 15, Mitrovic 12, Maglio 9, feel free to go back and comment on the edited post.
You are simply one of the most vocal canadian posters is all .
I won't argue against your "King is besties with Howe and is trying to cancel Mitrovic (and others)" stance. You are clearly standing on that hill. I will just say I think it's rather silly and unnuanced.

On a less dramatic scale, Maglio's usage has always been a concern for me. I'm curious to compare her volume at THY to the NT. Alas I'm much too lazy for that.

Yes, there is a men's league in China. It took a pretty serious hit during COVID. It used to have some good international talent, but the issue with getting visas seems to have all but killed it as an option.

hey thats just the college homers who show up only in summer and root for their alumni over the actual success of the nt Curious …. what do Canadian fans think “success” is for our NT? Or any fans for that matter. And as long as Brie King doesn’t sub herself out, she will remain on court - whether she’s good or trap setting or bff setting or whatever. I’m thirsty for 2028 - some interesting young players in Canada at the moment. There can be zero connection to Winzer however I think. Mike Myers ….. cawfee tawk 😂

Staying in the VNL and not being relegated will be a challenge itself and of utmost importance. Canada NT is always subjected to the risk of the core being demoralized and walking away and having to soft-rebuild. Just look at the quality of the team with just us missing Van Ryk. We still haven't found a OH2 to replace Bailey who is on her 4th knee surgery.
If we can have that soft-rebuild and still maintain VNL quality I am very satisfied as a fan. Anything more is just gravy.
edit: Making the Olympics would be huge for the program as well.

"Maglio's usage has always been a concern for me"? Is that based on fact or speculation? Let's see...she started almost every match on the 4th place team in the first/second best league in the world. She led her team in hitting percentage. She played well in the Turkish playoffs and outscored the middles from Galatasary (5th best team) and Fenerbache (3 rd best team)...She was one of the team's top scorers (and for middles) against Scandicci. With her team from Nilufer she was routinely high scorer not just for middles but for all players, and she was one of, if not the best scoring middles in the whole league for those two seasons. King can try and erase her too, but other people know that Maglio is a very good offensive middle. She is not at 100% right now, but that is besides the point. Again, find me some other people on this board that think Maglio is not a good offensive middle.

How did you interpret my comment in the way you did? I am saying that I would like Maglio's usage to be much higher. I have a very high opinion of Maglio.
Please take a step back and relax.

Yea, you said the same statement about her last year. My bad, it must just be the way you conveyed your message. My apologies and I am glad to see you think that both our middles should be set.

Yea, you said the same "compliment" about her last year. My bad, it must just be the way you conveyed your message. My apologies and I am glad to see you think that both our middles should be set. I don't know why you think I have an agenda against Maglio. I think she's our best middle and one of Canada's core players.
