Honestly, Canada just looked tired in the 5th set. Schedule and lack of depth really cost them, and Queen Gray couldn't tow them across the finish line.

As much praise as Winzer gets (and deserved), she makes some bizarre decisions and indecisions, such as not having a serving sub for White, and not recognizing that Jost had a miserable time on defence today. Much more emphasis should’ve been placed on taking away cross court on Italy’s OOS swings on either pin - Italy swung away with impunity on every OOS set and mostly scored them all. Winzer also should’ve rested King and Gray in that 3rd set beatdown.
Still, the second Leftside spot that’s sorta-kinda filled by Howe and Mitrovic remains a problem, as is Gray’s (and Mitrovic and Howe’s) passing.
KVR was also a disaster on defence and serving today.

We have no depth unfortunately. Having a competent OH2 would really fix a lot of our problems (offense, defense and serve receive). Howe and Mitrovic collapsing is such a consistent problem and I don't see them improving. Especially Howe... She's supposed to be a big scorer that we can overlook her other weaknesses, but even her scoring at this level is miserable.
