Not sure what Pierce you are talking about, but stats tonight and all tournament say otherwise. Stats from Brazil, or was everyone just in a funk? So you looked at Brazil stats to base your opinion on Pierce and she led all pins in hit%. in fact, she was the only pin who was in the positive. With VDW back in the starting lineup at OH since match 2 until last night, Pierce has been used as a RS sub on the 6-2 with Starck. Both have been great each sub rotation. Starck and Pierce (Sellman) started set 3 and ran a 5-1 against Brazil. Pierce led in scoring that set and was 4 for 4 on receptions. 3rd set was the closest the US played Brazil. Not sure how to read your take on Pierce being so off on her performances in 2 matches. Attachments:

🇺🇸 plays Mexico in Leon, Mexico tonight at 10EST/7PDT in the day’s highlight match…expect a full house and a true test for our girls. If we win, we’ll play Turkyei again for 5th place tomorrow. Let’s go, USA 🇺🇸!!!

This group is grinding. Some of them might be fatigued. All things considered they’re doing an incredible job!

These kids are balling. Anyone know what the best finish the US has done at a U21 Worlds before this year? Is this info kept somewhere?

Best ever finish was 4th (2007 and 2011), and US finished 5th in 2021 when it was still a U20 competition. The team had mostly college players with a couple youngsters: Lexi Rodriguez, Miner, Ogilvie, Krause, Batenhorst, Carlson, Jacobs, Hope, Middleton, Crawford, Londot, Essix. usavolleyball.org/event/2021-fivb-u20-world-championship/This team is entirely HS players, all U19 and a couple U17, competing against professionals from some of the top leagues in Europe and South America. Also, the age classification changed from U20 to U21 last year, so all the teams are older.

Also, the age classification changed from U20 to U21 last year, so all the teams are older. I think it’s even more impressive. A handful of these kids went through a grueling club season during the spring, then jumped into tryouts for the U19 selection, straight to the U19 Worlds, winning the gold, and now jumping up an age group for the U21 Worlds. These are sophomores and juniors in high school who have lived out of duffel bags for months, in three countries on two continents… reached a goal that could have only been a fleeting thought 6 months ago, then without being even afforded the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishment, were given an even greater obstacle… it’s not only the physical strain of this non-stop out of age competition, it the mental pressure. They have all certainly grown in their volleyball acumen, I hope the toll physically and mentally is worth it. Sophomores and juniors in high school…USA volleyball should be held accountable…. wtf is USAVB doing?

They could have rotated players better for fresher legs because some games were winnable with some line-up changes but overall, these kids have been given an invaluable experience from USAV and none of them would have wanted any other way I assume.
